"A perfect seaside getaway, I'd come back to this hotel countless times! My recent beach vacation was completely blown away by this hotel. From its location to the dining, everything was on point, and every moment felt incredibly healing! The location is absolutely fantastic! It's right next to May Fourth Square, and you can be on the beach in just a few minutes, avoiding the fatigue of long commutes. Popular attractions are within walking distance, and if you want to catch the evening seascape light show, you don't have to jostle with crowds; you can comfortably enjoy the panoramic view from your room. Lying in bed, the entire blue ocean instantly fills your sight – pure bliss! The room is spacious and stylishly decorated, and the bedding is so soft you won't want to get up. Ocean views paired with delicious food – a feast for the taste buds! The dining experience completely exceeded expectations! The breakfast spread at the sea-view restaurant was so diverse it was hard to choose. Freshly made seafood, wontons, and other specialty dishes were fresh and flavorful. Paired with the ocean view outside the window, it's the perfect start to an energetic day!"

"Highly recommend for a group of four! On this trip with three friends, we stayed at this hidden gem of a hotel right above The MixC shopping mall! We booked the two-bedroom, one-living room apartment, which felt perfectly tailor-made for group travel. The rooms were spacious and bright, and the two bedrooms offered complete privacy. The common living room area allowed us to chat and hang out with friends without ever feeling crowded. But the biggest surprise was its unbeatable location! It's directly connected to The MixC downstairs, offering a one-stop shop for shopping, dining, and entertainment! If you get tired from exploring, you can pop upstairs to rest anytime, and once you've recharged, just head back down to continue the fun – it couldn't be more convenient! Whether you're looking for trendy foodie spots or need to grab daily essentials last minute, everything is easily within reach."

"This has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Qingdao, right up there with The Lalu, Diaoyutai, and St. Regis. But it's more affordable than all of them. Overseas, we generally agree that staying at a St. Regis is just paying a 'stupid tax'. The views here are the best, and the location is as unbeatable as the St. Regis, with two similarly-ranked buildings in the same prime spot (next door). The real highlight, though, is the buffet upstairs. If you haven't tried the buffet here, you're seriously missing out. I'd give it a 9.9 out of 10. The only minor imperfection was that the cleaning staff in the lobby weren't very professional. When they roll up the carpets, they should really put up a warning sign to alert guests to watch their step. I tripped last night. Luckily, I'm quick on my feet; an elderly person probably would have fallen, and then that staff member would be out of a job. I hope they can improve safety in the future. The manager at the hotel lobby was very kind and upgraded my room for free, which I really appreciate."

"The best place to me and my family, we were just arrived at Qingdao first time and this is the right place to stay if you are visiting Qingdao. The place is closed to anywhere, just walk to see the Church, shopping mall, etc. At night you would see all beautiful lights around the place. Such a wonderful view. They have a wonderful buffet for your breakfast also.Many kind of food you want to choose. We Will come back again later with my family next time"

"Ever since deciding in June in Dali to visit Qingdao in September, I booked the Shangri-La Hotel right away! That's because my 'bear baby' (term of endearment for myself) absolutely loves the signature scent at every Shangri-La. Arriving at Shangri-La, I immediately felt right at home. These five days truly felt like being with family. From the Shang Palace to the Café Yum, the Horizon Club Lounge, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Front Desk – every single staff member always had a wonderful smile on their face. I want to give a special shout-out to Benjamin and Rina; they took such excellent care of my 'bear baby'! They thoughtfully looked after my 'bear baby's' every need – food, clothing, accommodation, and transportation – and told me all the best spots for photos and check-ins, among many other things. They were also incredibly patient with my 'bear baby's' 'nagging,' never getting annoyed no matter how busy they were, haha. It was truly exceptional; I was genuinely sad to leave the hotel."

"Feeling underwhelmed: The room decor is quite old, especially the flooring, which feels very dated. It also looks different from the photos, crudely divided into two areas. The sofa and TV area is impractical – who watches TV with their head turned 90 degrees, haha! The originally spacious bedroom was partitioned into a tiny space; there isn't even enough room for a nightstand between the two beds. They might as well push them together to make one big bed. While there's an induction cooker, there are no pots, pans, or utensils. The AC cooling is very powerful, but it seems to be central air conditioning, so we couldn't adjust the temperature higher. We managed by turning it on and off. Pros: Excellent location; all attractions in Shinan District are just a 10-20 yuan taxi ride away. The view is quite nice too. From the bed by the window, you get a partial sea view, where you can see the 'May Wind' sculpture and the coastline, and the evening light show is absolutely stunning. While I was complaining about the room layout, my mom was very satisfied; she said the view was great and that was enough! The breakfast buffet didn't have many options, but the taste was decent. Even though the hotel staff were very busy, they were all very nice and helpful in resolving our issues. Food deliveries can be brought right to your door by a robot, making ordering takeout very convenient. There are also many delicious restaurants nearby. Overall, it was still a good stay."

"Location is fantastic, but the price doesn't match the experience. 😕 The hotel's location is excellent, right near the church, coffee shops, barbecues, and beer places. It's very easy to get anywhere. However, for 960rmb+ per night, I was expecting more. The room is quite dark and not good for taking pictures or doing makeup. They should really upgrade the lighting to something guests can adjust. The room itself is spacious with a comfortable bed. The shower has strong, very hot water you can be toasted in one minute! My main issue is the value. For this price, there is no complimentary tea or coffee in the room, no TV, and no breakfast included. I was a little unhappy about this. The service was very nice, thanks to one young man who was always trying to help us, even though he doesn't speak English. He is the best reason to book this hotel. 👍👍👍 A note: there is no elevator, but that was fine for us since there's no gym to worry about anyway. Overall, the location is perfect, but the price is really not suitable for what you get."

"The room overall was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. The cleaning staff did a thorough job every day during our extended stay. As southerners visiting the north, we found it quite dry, so they thoughtfully provided extra bottled water for us for two consecutive days – much appreciated! The location is also very convenient, close to the subway, making it easy to get to nearby attractions by taxi. The room facilities are standard for Huazhu hotels, which we found quite comfortable. The only minor drawback was the soundproofing; we could hear the plumbing at night. However, if you're really tired from exploring, it won't affect your sleep. The heating was excellent; we never felt cold, and there were no strange odors in the room."

"For my trip to Qingdao, I was looking for a hotel with convenient access to transportation, shopping, and dining. After reading numerous traveler reviews, I opted for the newly opened Qingdao Yihai Garden Hotel (May Fourth Square branch). The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, and the cleanliness was also quite good. The facilities were comprehensive. Although there wasn't a direct sea view, the city lights at night were still dazzling. Breakfast was plentiful, offering local specialty snacks that tasted great. Even with many guests staying, everything remained quite orderly. A notable feature: The laundry room was a very popular spot, often with queues forming. The hotel site originally served as the Qingdao Workers' Sanatorium, which I personally believe contributes to its 'quiet oasis in a bustling city' feel. Downside: As some other guests have mentioned, the shower water temperature would occasionally fluctuate between hot and cold, and the water spray was too dispersed. I hope this can be improved."
