Hotels in Zhanqiao/Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, Qingdao

The location is super convenient, right above the subway station. It's an old building, but it's been recently renovated on the inside. It's also really close to the train station. Definitely worth staying here, excellent value for money! **Amenities:** They have a new Panasonic hairdryer, which is a plus, but there was some hair on it from a previous guest. No mini-fridge, which isn't great if you want cold drinks in the summer. **Cleanliness:** Good, no weird smells in the room. **Service:** Very good! They even proactively told me about the history of the hotel building.

My stay here exceeded expectations. The hostel was incredibly clean, the room was tidy and quiet, and the bedding was comfortable. It's conveniently located with easy access to transportation and plenty of food and drink options nearby. The bunk beds were well-equipped, and the individual lockers provided a great sense of security. The staff were friendly, and the common area was perfect for meeting fellow travelers, creating a fantastic atmosphere. The price is excellent, offering incredible value for money for backpackers. Highly recommended!

The hotel is very close to the sea, and the room we booked had a huge window with a sea view. From the front desk to the service staff, everyone was incredibly friendly. As soon as we arrived, the lovely lady at the front desk promptly offered us drinks to quench our thirst. The breakfast restaurant isn't huge, but there's a good variety of food, including coffee, juice, yogurt, tea, stir-fried dishes with shrimp and beef, cakes, noodles, wontons, and mackerel and squid dumplings. It was great!

First off, the hotel's location is great. It's really close to Dabao Island, the church, and Yinyu Alley. Transportation is also convenient, and it's near Qingdao Station. However, the soundproofing really isn't good. I was a bit hesitant after reading other reviews, and it turns out they were right. But the hotel service is genuinely excellent. The front desk staff proactively helped contact the next-door room and even gave us a small gift, which totally made up for the unpleasantness of the poor soundproofing! One thing that does need improvement, though, is the housekeeping. They only seem to change the trash bags and don't even clean the sinks. They also left a takeaway bag on the floor, which felt a bit perfunctory.

Honestly, I've always been a big fan of Manxin Hotels by Huazhu, and I often choose them in many cities. However, this stay was by far the worst experience I've had. Perhaps the hotel has been open for a while; when I booked, I was worried it might be a bit old. The moment I stepped out of the car, my heart sank. The environment was truly mediocre, and maybe this style just isn't for me. But it wasn't just the decor style. First, the side door of the hotel was incredibly heavy. When I entered, there were three staff members, but no one greeted me. As soon as I walked in, I was hit by an indescribable odor. Thinking it was just for one night, I just put up with it and checked in. Getting to my room floor, the moment I stepped out of the elevator, I saw a patch of old, worn carpet. And then, entering the room, all I felt was a sense of oppression. Nothing else. After dropping off my luggage, I didn't want to stay a moment longer and headed to the 12th-floor terrace. However, the moment I exited the elevator, I was met with an even more shocking sight: clothes hanging in the hallway, and two large trash bins in the corridor with some trash spilled on the floor… I forced myself to go up despite the discomfort, and the view was indeed quite good. But honestly, it killed my plan to go back up later to take night photos, and I never did. If this is an value-added service offered to guests (I heard non-guests have to pay 39 RMB to an old man guarding the entrance), shouldn't the hotel allocate some staff to at least maintain basic cleanliness?

Excellent, beautiful environment, very clean rooms, separate wet and dry areas in the bathroom, the hotel front desk staff are very welcoming and attentive. 5. Convenient parking, good front desk service, they proactively upgraded us to a larger room, the room was clean and quiet, and the soundproofing was good, so it didn't disturb sleep.

Secondly, the hotel's facilities and ambiance are excellent, showcasing the charm of a century-old courtyard. The rooms are really unique, and the staff are all incredibly friendly. When the hairdryer had a minor issue, a staff member quickly brought a replacement. Lastly, I have to praise the hotel's breakfast buffet. Although the dining area isn't huge, the variety of food is extensive, ranging from Chinese to Western, and from local specialties to popular tastes. It's very comprehensive, tastes great, and all the ingredients are fresh. I'll definitely choose Furuili Shiyu Hotel again next time I'm in Qingdao.
