This guesthouse, which only opened last year, boasts immaculately clean and quite spacious rooms. Despite its central location within the ancient town, it offers a surprisingly peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle. There are also plenty of dining options conveniently located nearby. The 'little white cars' (electric shuttles) in the ancient town are on-call and can pick you up or drop you off anywhere, making it incredibly convenient to visit all the local attractions!

This was my first trip to Quanzhou, and I took advantage of the off-season to avoid the crowds. My friend's choice of guesthouse was excellent as always. Check-in was smooth, and the housekeeper called ahead to tell us where to get off (the guesthouse is on a pedestrian street, so cars can't reach the entrance directly; it's about a 100-meter walk). There are tons of great food options around the ancient city, so eating, staying, and playing all nearby was super convenient. They were very thoughtful during check-in; I was thirsty, and they offered icy cold winter melon tea with sea jelly. There was also a complimentary afternoon tea downstairs where I enjoyed a cup of coffee, which was quite pleasant! The air conditioning was already on in the room when I arrived, making it very comfortable. It smelled lovely, with no strange odors, and the hygiene was impeccable. What brand is the mattress? I slept so soundly, all the way until morning. The breakfast was also pretty good, with 'Mian Xian Hu' (vermicelli paste) being a local Quanzhou specialty. Next time I have free time, I'll bring my family here to visit. It was a really good experience.

Located in the heart of the city, the five-star Quanzhou Hotel (Quanzhou Jiudian) is around eight kilometers from Quanzhou railway station. The architecture of this Quanzhou hotel features classic European style. Guests can select from a list of room such as deluxe business rooms, deluxe business suites and presidential suites. Well-equipped rooms command views of the city and its landmark, two ancient towers.

This hotel seems to have been converted from a guesthouse, and it's really good! It doesn't have a lot of fancy facilities, which is actually very convenient for older guests. They often don't know how to use new facilities, and there are many eateries nearby. There's a great place for bianshi (a type of dumpling) and another one for mazhi (mochi-like snack).
It's very convenient to get to Quanzhou Ancient City. If you're coming from inside the ancient city, you can take a small electric car to Guan Di Temple station and then walk back to the hotel.
Quanzhou Ancient City is a lot of fun, you can easily spend a whole day there. While there are many temples, you can get through them quite quickly. The incense burning is a bit too much, though. Definitely avoid Qingjing Mosque.
The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, but they provide vouchers for the bakery downstairs. You can have bread and coffee in the morning, or if you're short on time, you can use the 9.9 RMB voucher to buy two pieces of bread.
The laundry room is on the rooftop terrace and hasn't been renovated at all. You need a flashlight to do laundry at night 🔦, this really needs improvement. The front desk ladies are all lovely, and checking in foreign guests was also very easy.

A B&B hidden in Quanzhou West Street, a B&B I stayed in by chance! The homestay is in Japanese log style, with a simple and generous design style. The rooms are spacious and bright. You can make your own tea in the room and feel the unique charm of the ancient city🍵
My favorite place is the rooftop of the homestay. It is so comfortable to eat snacks, drink tea and bask in the sun on the rooftop at noon. The disposable supplies are also very complete, including towels, bath towels, etc. The projector, air conditioner, hair dryer and other electrical appliances in the room are all new and easy to use. The projection screen is very large and very clear!
The location is also great. Walking out of the B&B is the West Street, and it takes only a few minutes to walk to popular attractions such as Zhongshan Road and Huaxiang! A great stay experience can really add a lot of happiness to this trip🥰

The B&B is located in a small alley, making it a very quiet place to rest at night. It has four floors, with a double room on the top floor. There's only one unit, consisting of two separate small rooms joined by a hallway. While the rooms aren't large, each one has a separate shower and toilet, making them very comfortable. The common areas on each floor are spacious. Free water, drinks, and tea are available in the common areas on the second and third floors, and the fourth floor boasts a separate, free laundry room with dryer and a terrace for enjoying the view and hanging clothes. The front desk lady was very welcoming, welcoming us, guiding us, and helping with our luggage. She also recommended some excellent food before our check-in, which I highly recommend! Although the fourth floor is a walk-up, there's a dedicated elevator for luggage that takes us directly upstairs. Overall, the B&B was very thoughtfully designed, not using all the space for rooms. While there aren't many rooms, the common areas are spacious and comfortable.

Excellent
AACouchPotatoThis hotel was a wonderful place to stay. Located pretty close to all the local landmark and the staff were all to friendly and helpful and with wonderfully clean rooms
GGuest UserI personally think that the boss's service is very good. On my first day, he sent me a guide and recommended delicious meals. He also made a local breakfast for us (I didn't eat it because I was shy). I asked the boss for the WeChat of renting an electric bike, and she actually gave me her bike for free for two days. We can chat and drink tea together. I think the service is really good.
The room is cost-effective, but one thing is that because this is the first day I stayed, I renewed the lease and changed the room. The bathroom leaked a little, but it didn't affect it.
Overall, the house is cost-effective, I like it very much, and I can talk to the boss very well (I forgot to take pictures, sorry, because I think it's pretty good)
GGuest UserI checked in with my daughter and sister from the 20th to the 24th December 2024 and we had a wonderful experience! The hotel is very new, and the 2 rooms are impressively spacious, providing great comfort throughout our stay.
The location, though not accessible by large vehicles, is well-served by convenient smaller vehicles called ”xiao bai,” which made getting around a breeze. This thoughtful arrangement added to the charm of the place.
One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast. As someone from Singapore, I was thrilled to find my hometown breakfast featured alongside Quanzhou cuisine. The fusion of flavors was delightful, and we looked forward to it every morning.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, with a special mention to Zhuang Zhuang for going above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Their warm hospitality truly made us feel at home.
We spent four nights here and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I highly recommend QUANZHOU WEST ST. GUCHENG ALLEY YU Hotel to anyone visiting Quanzhou. Thank you for a memorable stay!

GGuest UserThe room was very spacious, with excellent soundproofing and a beautiful view. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the sunset over the river from the comfort of the sofa. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, enough to try all the local Quanzhou delicacies. The overall stay experience was superb, easily meeting five-star standards. Hotel staff were always on hand to help with luggage upon arrival and departure, which made me feel incredibly well looked after. When I needed a drying rack late at night, the staff promptly brought one to my room. Every staff member I encountered in the lobby greeted me warmly, showcasing their high level of professionalism. The room's toiletries and even the key card were made of wood, giving a sense of luxury while remaining eco-friendly. The tabletop vanity mirror was from Mi Guang, reflecting excellent taste. While the city itself might be ordinary, the hotel is absolutely exceptional, truly living up to InterContinental standards. I certainly hope to stay here again.
红红月I spent 6 nights at 2208. It had been saved on my Trip.com for many months before my summer holiday, so I was happy that they had availability for the week I planned to visit.
In order of importance for me as a solo (foreign female) traveler are: location, safety, and helpfulness of staff.
1. Location: I think the location is perfect. It’s on a small alley behind West Street and directly across from Kaiyuan Temple’s west gate. This area is very central and convenient.
2. Safety: Overall, the city is safe, but in reality it is nearby a main tourist destination, so to prevent non-guests from entering there is a gate with keypad access for late night. There was always staff inside at other times.
3. Helpfulness of staff: There were some language barriers due to my lack of fluency, but the staff tried to help as much as possible to make sure I was comfortable. If there was a problem it was resolved quickly and if I didn’t understand, they were patient and tried to explain it another way.
Other than these things, I’ll say there are actually two 2208 buildings in the same area. One has a view of Kaiyuan Temple from some rooms and from the rooftop; the other seems more modern but without this view. There is cleaning service available if you need it and free water bottles daily.
If you are looking for amenities such as a television or breakfast, maybe this is not a suitable option, but if you want a place to sleep nearby the best sites in Quanzhou, and have friendly staff greet you each day, then it’s a good choice.
GGraceThe hotel is great! Though there are times when you can still smell cigarette smoke from the vents, it is still very good overall. They also gave Chinese dessert for 2 nights, which we enjoyed and appreciated a lot. A shout out to the front desk 志强, who recommended some good eats around Shishi.
AAnonymous UserRoom was really big, and although it was further than I expected, its still of a walkable distance from the airport. Room was big and had plenty of space! Cleanliness wise was actually pretty alright, EXCEPT the toilet. I think it was mentioned by another reviewer that there is a very strong smell i think coming from the drain. It really hits you in the face whenever you open the toilet door, so im quite affected and reluctant to use the toilet lol. But luckily the toilet and bath are separated, so I think if you close the toilet door its still fine. I just hold my breath when opening the toilet door. Also its still bearable for me since im only there for 1 night (im in quanzhou for a 24 hour layover), but otherwise the smell is really not for long stays, so I would say considering the price I paid (and the proximity to the airport) its still an acceptable stay BUT if you're staying there for longer I would recommend looking for other hotels! (Which is a shame really because I like staying in large rooms normally and i think i dont have high standards for my stays as long as its clean, and this room is pretty spacious)

Very Good
XXiaokuaitoumaHotel location is very good to go to West Street, Qingyuan Mountain, museum attractions taxi basically within 20 yuan, downstairs supermarkets and various restaurants, go out to the hotel to buy some fruit downstairs to take upstairs. Bottled water is also placed next to the elevator for guests to use. The hotel's breakfast is great, the ingredients are fresh and delicious, both Chinese and Western. The hotel is very cost-effective. I will stay here next time.
AAnonymous UserThe new hotel is located by the West Lake, about 2 kilometers away from Kaiyuan Temple and West Street, with convenient transportation. The ”Xiaobai” waved at you at will. The service attitude was very good, and he answered all questions enthusiastically. The hotel was clean and tidy, and the room was spacious, comfortable and breathable. The room facilities need to be improved, such as refrigerators and cabinets, etc., and I look forward to better.
EEmily YingThis homestay is superb for me and my family member from Malaysia. The location is great and the pin location is accurate is u grab car from Didi.
This homestay can grab Didi anytime. The shop Opposite hotel is 老字号马蹄酥&黄衍明口腔科 as later i will put picture for ur reference. Then u follow the signboard go in the alley then can find the homestay. The owner of this homestay is super helpful and friendly. As my luggage damage in airport, owner help me to get a new luggage online and get it just within a day. The homestay even provide us disposable towel ,face towel , tooth brush and tooth paste everyday. And no need worry about shampoo and body shampoo too. Hassle free and can bring less item if u stay in this homestay. The hotel location is great to grab breakfast and supper too. Some within walking distance restaurant I will put in photo. All in all, this homestay is good value for money and i would like say thank you to the owner of this homestay for the pleasant stay during my trip. Definitely we will come back again Quanzhou just want stay in Lanxin courtyard only.
