Best Hotels in Quatre Bornes, Mauritius

Prices of hotels in Mauritius can be high, especially those to the coast. Palms Horel offered a quite good solution in Quatre Bornes: it’s affordable (about 60 EUR a night) and not that far from more touristic places (about 30 min drive to the Capital, Port Louis, or the beaches of Flic en Flac). We were there for a 1-week business meeting. Facilities were very good. And any issues (happened) were very quickly solved by the staff …the staff (all, from the reception desk to the hotel manager) is definitely the key of Palms. Incredibly nice and helpful. The lady managing the meeting room area (and the coffee breaks) is a gem. The man and lady keeping the bar, the ladies in the restaurant and those at the reception were so nice. The Hotel staff was so helpful to accommodate on short notice for our Muslim colleagues who started the fasting of Ramadan during the meeting). And all issues linked to payment supposed to be done in advance (meeting room, 17 bedrooms) were dealt with in full confidence when on site! Thank you for that Ms Manager! An exceptional stay at the resort, with 5 star treatment by all of the hotel staff. All of the staff that we came into contact with went out of their way to provide true Mauritian hospitality at its best! A highly recommended resort for couples and families. The rooms were well-maintained with a clear sea view and a view of the plunge pool. The quality of food, upkeep of the restaurants and all public spaces were immaculate! Many exciting water activities that were complementary with our stay as well as various themes provided at dinner time to keep guests entertained. Kevin and his team will be sure that you leave with the biggest smile on your face after each meal! Well done team!

The hotel is in ebene, similar to the high-tech park, it is convenient to the office, the hotel breakfast is OK, there is not a gym, but the facilities are more practical. Parking is very convenient with lots of parking spaces. The service staff is enthusiastic and many needs can be resolved in a timely manner.

The location of the hotel is average, although there is no beach at the beach, the only thing is very secluded. The yard where the hotel is located is very large and there are many houses for short and medium term rental. Hotel facilities are relatively old, but it is a bit special, the hotel lobby is not big, the bird cage inside is feeding a few birds. The service is OK. If you have dinner, there are two restaurants, one bar to choose from, and one that is open to Asian restaurants opened by Malaysians. The price of the local restaurant below is acceptable. The hotel's WIFI is very poor and often does not receive signals in the rooms.

The hotel is not too far from the seaside and it takes half an hour to walk. The price is very reasonable, so this location is ok. Other conveniences are also very good, the only bad thing is that eating is not very convenient. The hotel kitchen is very simple and nothing to eat.

During this trip to Mauritius, I stayed in a total of 5 hotels, including the popular Prince Hotel and LUX Hotel Mont Monas, but the one with the best overall experience was the cheapest. Of course, its hardware facilities are not comparable to the first two. Compare. The hotel restaurant’s resident kittens are a big part of this. I hope the hotel can treat these kittens well.

Friendly small tourist residence with lovely staff, great breakfast, and comfortable rooms. Looks bigger in the photos but was a perfect place to relax. Situated about a 30-minute walk to the beach but with some rooms having a sea view and a free shuttle service helped. The hotel is surrounded by private houses and has a suburban feel to the neighborhood. There is parking for a few cars so some guests use it as a base from which to day trip. It is possible to walk just 5 minutes to the main road into town where you can catch a bus down into Flic for around 20 rupees or the other way to Port Louis and beyond for not much more than 50 rupees.

I travelled to Mauritius for business in both Feb and March 2020, staying at Villa Anakao for 5 nights and 3 nights respectively. This is an excellent option if you are looking for a quiet, laid back retreat away from the flashy resorts and built-up areas such as Port Louis. As mentioned in previous reviews, staff are really friendly and go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. The food is excellent, home-cooked Mauritian dishes each night served outside in a covered eating area by the pool. Breakfast is also good, with eggs cooked to order and fresh fruit. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and have everything you need for a pleasant stay. As a business traveller I was away for most of the day but it was great to come back in the evening, sit on the verandah with a couple of beers and enjoy a traditional Mauritian dinner each night. For those on holiday, the pool area is simple but clean and well-maintained, and there is a beach a couple of minutes’ walk away. Just to note, I would highly recommend hiring a car if staying here - there aren’t really any shops or restaurants within walking distance and although public buses are frequent, you will have a lot more freedom with a car. Driving in Mauritius is easy, hiring a car is inexpensive and there is secure parking on the premises.

The guess told me the room in bad condition, the cupboard and toilet which they came 3 times to fix, door din work properly and luckily manage to move to others room. However I got mixed up with the booking date n trip.com managed to help me settle without extra fee via live chat.
