Holiday Inn Queenstown Frankton is generally good except for the many stairs. The rooms are up on a slope and without an elevator. Will not recommend for elderly folks like us. Breakfast spread though small, but tasty. Our room has a great view of the lake and mountain. Occasionally, we could see planes landing as the hotel is very near the airport.

Excellent room with all the amenities you can hope for. Friendly service from all hotel staff. Great view across the lake. The only minor criticism is that it’s not quite in the town centre, which is about a 10-minute drive.

We would not recommend this place for several reasons. 1. The room has a strong chemical odor that does not fade even with both ac and door being opened. 2. There is a window in the bathroom that lets in a lot of sun and the bathroom door is half transparent, therefore you won’t be able to sleep in the morning. Ironically that is the only windows that gets the light in, so during the day you feel like you are sitting in a dark den. 3. Rooms are small and with dark furniture, so it does not feel nice or new. 4. As a couple, we were checked into a twin room with two separate beds, despite placing our booking in advance. No rooms were available for exchange. The hotel was fully booked with Asian tourist groups. 5. The hotel charges 20 for parking your vehicle overnight. 6. There is nothing to eat at breakfast, none of the food they serve looks appetizing. In conclusion, do not waste your money because you won’t have a pleasant stay there if you are on vacation.
