For the price, I was disappointed. It was a climb up from town with heavy packs but would be fine if you have a car. I eould describe this as a B&B not a hotel. The furnishings and fittings are quite dated and tired. The magazines in the den are all from 2016! Our room had no view other than an old concrete chimney, although from the small balcony I could see out over Queenstown and some of the mountains.

My husband and I recently stayed at Brown’s Boutique Hotel and we were very happy with our choice. If looking for a true boutique kiwi hotel experience, in a family friendly environment and great access to town, then Brown’s is a terrific choice. Kyle and Jill (the managers) made it super easy for us…everything from storing our luggage while tramping, allowing us to park our car for free in their lot while gone (no small matter) and providing a lovely breakfast with world class daily made yogurt. They even graciously stored our excess luggage while we were off adventuring. They were easy going and helpful hosts, provided charming and clean accommodations, great breakfasts, and good advice on things to do in Queenstown. We look forward to a return trip someday and would easily come here again. It’s the local hotel we will recommend to our friends.

We had been looking forward to our stay at Browns Hotel - the cozy atmosphere and homely feeling. Unfortunately, we have to say there is a big difference depending on whether it is the owner, Peter, or the manager and his wife who are present at Browns Hotel. During our 4-night stay, our room was only cleaned once, no fresh towels, etc. On our last day, 26.01.24, six guests sat at the breakfast table - we were missing coffee, bread, yogurt. We couldn't find any staff. When she finally appeared, she talked about bungee jumping and didn't respond to several requests for some breakfast items. We had to leave without breakfast - what a disappointment. Peter, take care of your hotel.

Perfect location When staying in Queenstown. At first you think it is not, but it shows to be Very close to everything. Very nice spacious room and bathroom as well. A small balcony which my husband enjoyed sitting at. Great views towards city and mountains. BUT this is certainly not a hotel! You do not get serviced every day ( not an option) which was a surprise…..so we had glasses and used coffecups left for yet another day….had to get milk myself as this was not put in the fridge on the second day. When I asked about the lack of check up, the owner said he was Sorry he had forgotten to mention it, but it was due to lack of staff. Only 10 rooms at this place so sounds like a petty excuse, to me. Cannot buy anything. No water, wine, chips, and the breakfast was only Continental, Could not buy any hot meals. And futhermore, all guests were seated at two large tables…..this is not something we appreciate. Would I recommend a stay here? Yes!! But they should Call it What it Actually is; a B&B

We booked the "honeymoon package" for a 3 night stay and were thrilled with the hotel. We met the owner at check-in who showed us to our room which had a nice balcony/view of town. We enjoyed the bottle of bubbly at check-in as well as the airport transfers which were seamless. The massage included in the package was a major highlight as neither of us had experienced a true Japanese massage before. The hotel itself is very conveniently located just a 5 minute walk from town, but removed from the loud bars/clubs which bump into the early morning hours. The manager convinced us to book the TSS Earnslaw dinner (and actually booked it for us/charged to our room) and that was a major highlight of our trip. I was surprised to read some of the negative reviews as our stay was near perfect.

Friendly host, room was spacious and clean but this is not a Boutique hotel. Breakfast adequate, homemade yoghurt was delicious. It was communal table , not my idea of fun. We stayed 3 nights and the room was not serviced. Very well located to get into town swiftly. The whole building is dated and in need of a Glow Up!

What great service and a great hotel to match. We were doing a trek for 4 days before staying at the hotel, and they stored our extra bags for us until the day we arrived. Then when we did arrive, they had already put our luggage in our room for us. They upgraded us because the room was free, and they could (the view from the room was perfect). We got a nice heads up on what was avaliable at the hotel, such as: A living room to chill in, a big nice room with Netflix (if all you need on the night is a comfy bed and something easy to watch after a big hike or which ever sport you are there for in Queenstown). Honestly, we were made to feel at home, which I've never had before at a hotel. The manager was professional yet chilled out, knew the town well, and had recommendations for food and drink. It felt like the hotels you hear about where you get the nice room and the nice service with a friendly touch. I don't know if it is my choice in hotels, but normally it's "here's your key your room is on the 2nd floor". All nice, and there's nothing wrong with that. Just the extra bits stood out to me. Was just a nice surprise. I feel like the team went above and beyond. Thanks.

A pricey and very average hotel that I booked on *********** for one night this Easter. When we arrived I was not welcomed, but was berated by the host for booking my stay with ***********. which he had huge issues with. He basically scolded me that I should have booked directly as I had paid 16% more than if I had gone directly to him. I had stayed there many years before and had always had the breakfast included. However, this time I was told it would only be included if I had booked directly . Now he grumpliy told me I had to pay a whopping $68 extra if we wanted breakfast. He continued to rant about how foolish I was which I found rude and unwelcoming. The room was adequate, although there was no soap in the bathroom nor milk for a cup of tea, which I guess are minor issues but I was so upset at his rudeness that when I had to go to the office twice I felt like leaving . Not much of a view. No parking despite this being advertised. I recommend staying elsewhere.
