Really cosy, well presented campsite. The toilets and showers were spotlessly clean. The kitchen area was warm and cosy with a fire for use. The site is small so if it had been busy, think it may have lacked a bit of privacy. Overall the best one we stayed at out of 5.

Booked for 3 nights on 1st night already leaving a review. To start the lack of facilities is laughable, 1 male toilet and shower to share between 20 others is appalling, furthermore both smell like raw sewage. In addition no pots or pans in kitchens making you hire them for $20. Paid $195 and can't see where the money goes. For a non-powered two man tent on grass surface with nothing but stone underneath paying $65 a night is nothing but bad. Would not recommend unless is absolute desperation.

Great location, the only central campsite we could find that was walking distance to town. All main attractions and lake are between 5 and 10 mins away. Cooky design, but very clean and well appointed. Warm welcome and well priced. Many local attractions pick up from the gate

Whilst the campervans are tightly packed in on the site with little space between them the facilities on Creeksyde make a stay there really enjoyable. The kitchen and sitting area are great. A warm fireplace and clean workplace make for a nice experience. The toilets& showers are clean and well maintained.

This holiday park definitely underperformed my expectations. First the good: facilities were clean and the location is excellent, a short walk into town. The bad: I know holiday park camping isn’t the same as camping in the US, you expect to be close to your neighbors here, but this place takes it to the extreme. Everything is so jammed in it’s actually hard to maneuver a campervan around, such as getting to the dump station. It’s not laid out to make it easy for driving a large rig around. If you don’t have kids, this won’t be relevant for you, but unlike every other holiday park we’ve visited in NZ, this one has no playground, no trampoline, no jumping pillow, nothing for the kids. They said there is a playground in town, a 10 minute walk away, but that doesn’t allow for the kids to play at the playground while mom and dad are making dinner, for example. It goes back to having everything jammed in as tight as possible, there’s no room to have a playground because that isn’t money making for the owners. The Wifi was painfully slow and they limit you to 1gb per day, which is sufficient for most people, but just rubs me the wrong way after paying 100 dollars to park my campervan for the night. Lastly, the staff wasn’t overly friendly. Not rude, but unlike most other holiday parks where we stayed where people were extremely helpful and friendly, the vibe here is more down to business. I definitely would not stay here again and would recommend you consider other options, especially if you’re a family traveling with kids.

The campsite itself is okay, everyone is a bit close together but that’s okay being very close to the city I guess. The kitchen bins were however overflowing and there were multiple other bags of trash around them; for the amount you pay you’d expect someone emptying the bins at night too. The worst thing was however a big misunderstanding we had with the reception and the booking staff which resulted in us having to pay more money than we were told. I was given some information via email - which was already quite confusing - around 5 months prior to our stay, and I tried to be as clear as possible in writing, repeating myself over and time again, but apparently that still wasn’t clear enough, so after a brief discussion at check-in we ended up paying more than we expected without even a hint of an apology. Don’t recommend staying here.

Absolutely fantastic. Extremely clean and tidy. An Abundance of facilities that are so well maintained and clean. It also has a certain quirky charm with bits and bobs located throughout. Very pleasant I Couldn't rate this place high enough. Its also in a very convenient location. Very close to town and the airport. Staff were helpful and very friendly.
