I really enjoyed my couple of days at the ibis style Hotel located on Duke Street. It was for business purposes however Mr.Martin has made it an absolute pleasure to work at this venue. Without him I don't think ibis would be as great. We need more people in the world like Martin. Always willing to help and very genuine, polite and caring. I thank you ever so much sir for making my stay an amazing trip. Hope to see you again.

Ibis Reading Easy check in and given key card to use lift as well as open doors. I hadn’t come across system that needed a key card in lift, swipe and select floor number.Judging by the number of confused faces we saw around the lifts, neither had many other guests. Easy when you know how! Bedroom smart and typical Ibis, modern styling and encapsulated bathroom. All clean and tidy, opening window always a bonus, plus a charging hub for our tech. Breakfast room was well stocked, with all tables cleared, staff on duty ensured it stayed like that. Excellent variety of food to suit all tastes.

Pleasant dining area for forty of us. Have given mixed reviews after previous visits, not all. good, Much improved, Best meal yet, good portions well cooked and presented. We had a set menu and it was well chosen and put together. Service efficient

Everything good except for no heating in the room. The young lady receptionist was exceptionally courteous, friendly and helpful and gave me a small heater. Without that I would have had to go out and buy one myself.

Receptionist/Duty Manager checked us in and took for 2 night parking. (I don't think it was not clear on the website that parking was additional.) Our room, although clean and nice, was uninhabitable because the bath was constantly running, an awful waste of water and an extraordinary oversight by Housekeeping in releasing the room for us. There were no double rooms in the hotel but the DM found us a room in the nearby George Mercure. The disruption meant that we did not want to stay a second night. Notwithstanding phonecalls to Hotles.com and confirmation from the DM at the IBIS that they would agree, the 2nd night parking has not been refunded. Pity. we have had some good visits to Ibis before.

The first room we were given, did not have air-conditioning and it was a heat wave. The windows did not open and the TV did not get any signal. We complained to management and they moved us to a room with "A/C". The A/C just blew warm air, we could not get it to cool at all. The radiator in the bathroom was on MAX heat the whole time and the shower only put out scalding hot water. We found out the problem with the TV was with their provider, so they did not have service to the whole hotel. In the second room, only 1 of the 3 windows opened as well. They did give us a fan, so they tried - but failed miserably. Service was the best part of the stay. It is not the main IBIS hotel close to the station. This is close to town centre as well, but it is to the west of the Oracle. 2 mins walk from the Oracle.
