"It was a nice comfortable room and stay. Cost effective with breakfast. Systems were down so checking was delayed and held us up. Room was too far for my sister to walk as she suffered with a leg injury and found it difficult to walk to and from the room. Accessibility was not considered despite noting it on the booking so she couldn't have the desired shower room as expected. Could be because of the system issue. The room was spacious and nice, hall a little bland, hall carpet a little tarnished possibly due to footballers and co footfall as it's connected to the stadium so perfect for footballers and families at match time. Entrance clean and inviting. There are 2 floors ,no lift so this must be considered if you cannot walk far. Lobby and breakfast hall was clean, and buffet breakfast was nice. Staff were friendly. FYi- my uncle received complimentary benefits for the long check in issues and delays. My sister and I didn't although it would have been nice too, since we waited long also. Overall it was nice but and I would stay again."

"Nice hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Location is good, close to downtown. Environment is nicer than in the centre. Room is big too, simple breakfast but good enough."

"Spacious rooms with good amenities within historically beautiful buildings with sympathetic extensions. Massive car park and quite rooms. Very responsive and interactive staff ensuring a positive experience at anytime (we arrived at 10:30 pm). In house breakfast has superior taste and the Chef has excellent mastery of the Classic English Breakfast."

"The rooms in this hotel are very comfortably furnished, with just the right color matching. The design of the entire room is very modern and pays attention to details. Every piece of furniture and decorations reflects the quality assurance."

"Stayed here ahead of a flight from Heathrow which was the second time. Modern, clean, and comfortable with good quality food and service in the bar. Made the mistake of staying at Holiday Inn nearby on the way back which was awful, spend your money here instead."

"We stayed here for a diving competition locally and can’t fault this hotel for value for money! The room was a decent size and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was decent enough and lots of choice. The staff were very attentive and I can’t believe we only paid £58 for the 3 of us with breakfast included! And there’s a pool, gym and sauna included in that price! Reading town is a bit rough but if you need to be central it’s right by the high street and town centre, so very easy"

"The staff is friendly and polite. Although it’s a bit of a drive from Newbury and closer to Thatcham, the location isn’t too bad. There are even public transport links, with a bus stop outside on the line that connects Newbury to Reading. I haven’t tried the food yet, as it seemed a bit expensive to me. However, there’s a pub nearby that serves excellent food. Unfortunately, there’s no air conditioning, but fans are provided."

"The hotel is basically accessible by car only.  No bus , no train, no shops.  The room is spacious but pretty old fashioned and worn-out.  The trade off is the room price is absolutely affordable."

"The hotel’s location is excellent, with convenient access to both train and bus services. The canal is just behind the hotel, offering plenty of restaurants serving a wide range of cuisines. The staff were incredibly polite, welcoming, and helpful. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely return in the future!"
