Hotels Near Galo da Madrugada in Recife

The hotel is clean and organized, the breakfast is simple but well prepared, with enough options. The location is perfect and you can go to a variety of good bars and restaurants nearby. In particular, the experience was very good because the receptionist Michelle was extremely careful, performing, kind and gave us various options for local tours. The hotel team is excellent and certainly suggestive to other people and I don't want to stay elsewhere when I go back to the Recife.

We hosted four people (two couples), two apartments, in the last floor, the view of the city and the sea is beautiful, but the glasses were so dirty that they had much to do to enjoy it. The hotel is very good, the building is beautiful, it impresss very well and the apartment is not bad. However, breakfast is served without capricity, everything is ”more or less”. Little agility in replacing pads and cuts. Little bread variety and almost nothing from the local cuisine. . With little attention to the requests and zero sympathy of the staff of the restaurant. Even being hosted in two people (one couple) per apartment, the room service, despite request, did not provide two cups and two cups; only one unit of each!!! And when we requested cuts in the restaurant (to eat a fruit or something like this), we were denied and provided with plastic cuts by paying $5.00 per cut (see photo showing). Unlike what was reported in the reservation, the parking was charged from the part.

I arrived late at the hotel for check in, I made the procedure and I went up completely exhausted of the trip, I went to bath and had no towels available in the room, I called at the reception and told me I had to go withdraw (??) My stay extended for 44 days but I went to another hotel that gave me the minimum comfort. The only thing that ”saves” is the service of the staff, all have always been very educated, at the reception, at the coffee and during cleaning, but it's all sad.

It's not only bad, it's depressing, bad, broken bed, window falling, TV cable crossing the floor of the room, electric shower, only one shot worked in the room .... and much more. Breakfast very bad, not closed door, horrible quality synthetic fabric bed, tergal type, unreal room floor .Finally ... There is absolutely no positive point.

Excellent hotel, beach view, excellent service, excellent service, great location, close to Recife shopping center, supermarkets, bars and restaurants!

The building is old, and the storage leaves to be desired ... breakfast is bad. I think it deserves investment, although this means the increase in the value of daily lives. Of all the 4-5 star hotels we stayed at during our February 2024 tour of the Northeast Brazil, Villa d'Oro near Olinda was the plainest, least memorable experience. Small rooms, basic breakfasts, cheap furniture, a miniature pool, and minimum service sums it all up. Ironically, Villa D' Oro charged us more than other really nice hotels and resorts that we stayed at in Recife, Praia Pipa and Natal, likely because of the Olinda carnival, which was happening while we visited. Villa D'Oro is just an OK place to sleep and that's that, no value enhancement, not even smiles at the front-desk and definitely an overpriced basic hotel that we would likely not be staying at again now that we have discovered less expensive resorts that offer so much more value. Take it for what it is, just a small, clean, safe hotel that offers a 2-3 star experience, and as long as you have no great expectations, you would he ok with it.

Hats off to Jacqueline, Carlos and Victor. They went out of their way to help me, especially through the complex process of buying a phone chip in Brazil. They were wonderful in every respect and will make your stay in Olinda a pleasure. I had a room in the annex across the street and it was quite spacious with a four-poster bed and an outdoor bathtub (the view from the street is blocked so don't feel shy about using it.) The breakfast was bountiful. Fruit, cheeses, meats, cakes and bread plus coffee and juice. It will keep you full till dinner time. Dinner at the restaurant was also delicious and reasonably priced. Once more all my thanks to Jacqueline, Carlos and Victor my first friends in Brazil.
