There is nothing wrong with the hotel.
Exception: I think the price of around €200 per night is too high.
Like most other hotel guests, I was there for a Schalke game.
The price obviously takes advantage of the fact that the place will definitely be fully booked.
But you can do it once.
It is of course absolutely great that you can basically fall straight into bed from the arena and don't have to squeeze into the overcrowded tram, especially for an evening game.
Of course there is still a lot of action in the hotel lobby until late at night.
But I would like it to be like that for a football game.

Stayed here 2 nights for England v Slovakia. Lovely place, 200 meters from the stadium, great staff. Very friendly. Wasn’t a fan of the breakfast but everything was just perfect. First night in a suite was £200. 2nd night in a twin room (night of the game) £500. Bit naughty doubling the price.

Stayed here for euros 2024 game as it is literal 2 minute walk to the stadium. I had mixed experience with front desk and breakfast staff but Mo was always helpful. Breakfast had a nice spread so that was great but it was 20 euros for adults and 10 for kids. Room service every other day was appreciated. Beds were comfy but room was always warm since apparently they do not have a/c, it’s only a ventilation/circulation system. Overall, I needed it for the local and it served its purpose.

Ich habe 3 Monate im voraus ein barrierefreies Zimmer gebucht. Dann habe ich sicherheitshalber noch mal beim Marriott angerufen und das barrierefreie Zimmer bestätigen lassen. Ein paar Tage vor der Anreise bekam ich eine E-Mail-Bestätigung für das Rollizimmer. Bei unserer Ankunft am Abend bekam ich KEIN barrierefreies Zimmer. Ich konnte nicht auf die Toilette, mir nicht die Zähne putzen oder mich waschen. Für die Suche nach einem anderen Hotel war es bereits zu spät. Auf Nachfrage bei der Rezeption klärte man mich auf, das Merkmal 'barrierefrei' sei lediglich als unverbindlicher Wunsch zu sehen. Mit einer E-Mail teilte mir die Marriott Gästebetreuung dann später mit, die zwei barrierefreien Zimmer seien wohl schon belegt gewesen. So ein Verhalten ist von einer Preiskategorie wie die des Marriott-Hotels absolut inakzeptabel! Ich kann das dieses Marriott-Hotel aus diesen Gründen nicht weiterempfehlen.

Tolles Hotel in der Mitte von Schalke 04.
Gut ich bin jetzt kein Fußballfan, aber es ist schon eine beeindruckende Kulisse die ich vom meinem Zimmer im 9.Stock hatte.
Dort gab es alles was den Aufenthalt angenehm macht.
Auf eine Minibar wurde verzichtet.Dafür gibt es Kühlschrank,TV Bad mit Dusche, bequeme Betten und eine Nespresso nebst Kapseln.
Kostenpflichtige Parkmöglichkeiten gibt es in der TG.Bei 10 Euro am Tag kann man sich aber nicht beschweren.

€10 a night parking isn't free. Exceptionally grumpy front desk staff with their faces buried in their devices to avoid customer interaction. Mediocre rooms that lack the basics like a kettle. When they finally brought a kettle, they didn't bring any mugs. Food is overpriced and bland.
