We were unsure what to expect and chose this hotel on the great reviews it received. We were not disappointed in any way. The staff were fantastic. We could not have been treated any better when both my husband and myself suffered unforeseen health issues during our 2 week stay. The reception staff, always with a smile, provided us with great support during our health issues and for this, we can not thank them enough. The amazing cleaners (who never stop and are always friendly and helpful) the breakfast staff ( who provide the best hotel breakfast food, with a fantastic choice and variety of freshly prepared food, which changes daily). The location is perfect, situated a short walk from the beach, shops and restaurants and the beautiful Old Town. In short, we would highly recommend Ionia Suites and would return again in a heartbeat

The hotel is easy walking distance to pretty much anywhere in Rethymno. Really close to the beach, shops, great places to eat and a short walk to the old town. The only downside of the handy location was that it was quite noisy on a night, particularly if your room is at the front of the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the housekeeping staff and the ladies who oversaw the breakfast. The breakfast was good, but had very limited vegan options which if you were staying longer than a few days becomes boring. We would happily recommend staying at Ionia Suites, and if we were returning to the area we would stay here again.

An excellent small and friendly hotel. Nice place to explore Rethymno from. Everything is within walking distance; old port and old town. The beautiful wide beaches and many good restaurants. You can walk everywhere within 10 to 15 minutes. Every employee is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet offers a wide choice. This way you can have something different for breakfast every day. And the ladies of the housekeeping are not only very friendly, but also do their job very well. And with a smile.

The staff were so lovely and welcoming, helped with anything we needed and very accommodating- can’t recommend this hotel enough! The hotel is beautiful and the complimentary breakfast has a wide variety to cater to all needs. The beach is a few minute walk away which is super convenient, as well as the port for any boat excursions etc.

The hotel staff is impressive. Everyone is adorable, starting with the desk and ending with the cleaning ladies... Location is perfect. The bus station is 15/20 minutes walk away otherwise the taxi is 10 euros (just ask at the desk). Clean room and clean every day (with a smile). The swimming pool is just a little gem after long daily escapades. The breakfast was very varied and frankly nothing to approach. As for orange juice... we avoid them during the summer on principle

Visited Ionia suites on our first visit to Crete in early June 2023. I didn't do any research on the hotel, so I didn't have any expectations. We arrived late and instantly saw how good the customer service was going to be, attentive, informative, and very professional. There was a guy named Michael. who during our stay, along with the team, could not have been more helpful . He helped us book an excursion and gave us tips on local eateries, which confirmed some of my choices in Rethymnon old town. Great location of property, a gentle stroll into Old Town or 5 mins from the beach. All in all, it was a wonderful stay in an oasis in the city centre. I have not even mentioned the rooftop pool, which is small but perfectly formed and very smart. The breakfast lady even opened early for us one day for a trip departure. Breakfast selections were excellent also. All I can sum up is, if you are thinking about Crete North Coast, Rethymnon area, you would be very wise to look at this place. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we will be back!!!

I can only recommend this hotel 100%. All the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast. Great selection and quality of food. Rooms were super clean. Very good location. We are staying here for a few more days, if we come to Rethymnon again we would check in here again straight away. Thank you

From reception they gave us better information than in the guides, so we discovered incredible corners and ate in the best places at the best price. We had a problem with the air conditioning, and they responded immediately, solving the problem quickly. -The price of the stay is very reasonable. -Good compliance with hygiene standards in times of pandemic. Quite a discovery.

Very pleasant stay in a great location. It’s not a modern hotel but has its own charm. Large apartment and comfortable and very clean. Be aware that the parking is small and limited to 4 cars. Car can be easily scraped by the protruding step. A. Nice touch is the raki offering at reception. As many shots as you want !
