Hi, from the outside the hotel looked modern (3 stars). The room, however, didn't deserve a star. I had room 107 directly above the entrance (the rooms on the higher floors have a small balcony). The car noise from the main road was very disturbing. The mattresses were new, but extremely soft, so I put the mattress on the floor. It was hard to get into the bathroom because the door hit the sink. The roof terrace was also closed. The price-performance ratio was not right. I won't be coming back. I can't say whether the rooms on the upper floors are better. Best wishes from Hamburg, kv

The worst unfortunately! Only the staff was kind at the reception, but I never recommend it to anyone.. 39€ for a room with a moldy ceiling.. the bathroom faucet was dripping with pieces of salt.. the towels smelled of moisture... and I found other people's hair on the towels! It is not possible for a hotel in the center of Rethymno to be so miserable, do renovations.. they will bring you some sanitary and run!!!! Not a single star...

You are deceived by the external appearance of the hotel, where they have installed modern balconies but the hotel is under demolition! The rooms are dirty, rusty faucets, the doors were hard to close, lukewarm water for shower, the mattress is at least 50 years old and the worst thing is you are in the room with cockroaches! Never again!

The hotel does not have parking nearby (even paid) as mentioned on booking. The nearby paid parking lot is always full and parking is prohibited at certain times of the week. To park, it's in the street and in the middle of summer it's complicated to find a place nearby, you have to park far away and lug around your suitcases because obviously there is nothing nearby. The hotel would have been renovated recently... for the hall ok... for the rooms it's called a lick of paint... for the bathrooms it remains in its original condition. We had a room with two single beds even though we are a couple, the hotel claiming that they could not guess that a double bed was necessary but strangely all the other hotels had understood this. Not enough outlets to charge phones, devices had to be unplugged from the room. The bathroom had a small shower tray with curtain. Suffice to say that the curtain sticks to the skin immediately (great with covid!) and the tap was in the process of unsealing. The curtain is too long, falls into the tray and blocks the water drain... immediate flooding in the bathroom! We had to mop up with all the towels provided and we ended up with our beach towels! Small note on the neon which was missing a closing cover on the case. Dinner (half board) was disgusting. We were poorly received: as soon as we sat down at the table, we expected someone to present us with the choice of dishes, but they brought us plates directly without choosing and without offering us a drink. We ended up with a salad bathed in oil and tomato juice (usually the smallest salad in Greece is succulent) As for the main course: overcooked legs and a sort of chili con carne bathed in water . My partner and I left the plates without touching them, really not good!!! Breakfast was of the same order. And to think that in Greece you eat very well anywhere but not here… The swimming pool is stuck in a pit between the wall of the hotel and the street. When we complained, the reception (who is very friendly) offered to give us another room to have a double bed but it's really turning a blind eye to think that there was only that as a problem to solve. There is no question of spending my vacation in these conditions. Nothing 3* here. Result of the story, we had 3 nights reserved, we left the day after the first. No refund because it was too late for them to cancel the next 2 nights (thieves!). Too bad, I preferred to pay for something better elsewhere for the same price. Otherwise yes it is well located in the city center.

The location is just by the gate to the old town, so everything is nearby, but the main road is so noisy, even at night, that you can't sleep with the window open. The air-conditioning has a low of about 22 degrees. Lower than that and it doesn't turn on. I didn't find that it cooled the room a lot, but my room never got the direct sun, so it was bearable. I think it could be a lot better for the money. The balcony is tiny and has no washing line for wet clothes. The TV isn't tuned. The breakfast is ok, but the first morning I came down at about 8am and struggled to find butter, chopped fruit, yoghurt... The electricity only works in the room when you put the key in, which means that the fridge doesn't work when you are out, and as a result you can't keep anything cool. It isn't cold enough to chill a bottle of water overnight, even after I asked then to take a look at it. And the fridge itself is so small that you can't put more than one half-litre bottle of water in! The staff are unaware of their city. They raise eyebrows when you say you want to visit a site they've never heard of, they can't recommend any restaurants ("I don't eat in restaurants") or tours ("I don't know about any dance nights") and are generally not very helpful.

We're a couple and we stayed there 2 weeks ago. Although the stuff tried to be polite, there were many downsides to our staying. First of all roof Cafe-bar was closed to renovation (during hot season?! And no one told us beforehand) and that led to three problems, one was that the room TV wasn't getting any signal cause of the antenna misplacement from the renovation, secondly the pool was under that construction site, so the water was full of garbage and dirt and thirdly we woke up the next morning due to the construction work right outside of our window. Other than that, the hotel is really old and the windows had no noise reduction to the outside main street (with traffic during the day). There is no air-condition but instead it offers a ventilation which was very noisy and the control was on the wall near the entrance door, so you'd have to get up to go turn it on/off. Also there were some broken tiles in the bathroom and the fridge was so old that it never managed to make our water bottles cold. The mattress was so worn out that we could feel the springs popping when we were moving... Only advantage was the location...

Room not worthy of a 2 star, very dilapidated. Difficulty closing the window door and the shutter facing the street (swollen wood)... No sound and thermal insulation, dirty and peeling paint. Uninviting bathroom (broken flush button, cramped and dirty shower), single beds without comfort, wall-mounted TV hung crookedly, electricity leaving something to be desired (at the standards level), entrance with smashed hatch... When We spoke to the receptionist about it and she confirmed that it was normal, because it is one of the oldest hotels in the city which has not been restored!

Externally very beautiful hotel, also beautiful and well-kept hall and common areas. The room left a lot to be desired, but there was a nice view of the city from the balcony. Buffet dinner quite varied and of good quality. Breakfast was good but not very varied, mainly savory things were present.

I had been inside with my girlfriend for less than 30 minutes and I was already downstairs at the reception. The taps had not been replaced in about 5/10 years and were therefore completely calcified and rusty. There was mold on the ceiling in the hallway to the bedroom from the entry. The doors do not close properly because they are not properly hung. In addition, the covers of the air conditioning controller and other electrical connections fell off. Sealant edges in the bathroom were moldy. Lots of dust on cupboards and in the bathroom fan. You can't call it a swimming pool either, because it is a small pool with green algae at the bottom. I could go on and on... So the bottom line is that the rooms are really extremely dirty and in a one-star youth hostel you have even cleaner sanitary facilities. To top it all off, we were allowed to look at other rooms with the cleaning lady to see if they were better. While these rooms were still full of belongings from other guests who were staying there at the time. Not very good with privacy.
