Black Pearl Apartment Hotel

We loved the Black Pearl! The staff was amazing - so polite, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were very spacious and the entire area was very quiet. Breakfast was delicious and we had food for days! We visited in Feb and would return in a heartbeat if we could. Thank you Black Pearl!

This property absolutely exceeded every expectation. Our rooms were large, clean, and well appointed. The location would not possibly have been better, only a few blocks from major sites, restaurants and shops, but off the beaten trail enough to be quiet. There were many extra touches that we appreciated--a full kitchen (with the water for the coffee maker filled each morning), and a generosity of spirit from the staff that made this an exceptional stay.

Black Pearl combines the benefits of a luxury hotel with the freedom of a modern well equipped apar**ent in the centre of town. The property is spotless. The staff are extra helpful and the kitchen is equipped with everything you will need. The mini bar/fridge contained more stock than i have ever seen and very reasonably priced. I could not recommend Black Pearl highly enough. We will be back in Reykjavik and will definately stay there.

The room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and the kitchen was a treat. Great location as it is very close to the harbor and City Center.

The hotel was noisy with lovely large rooms. We arrived on a 630am flight getting to the hotel around 930. I was sick from food I had eaten the night before at Dulles airport. I explained that I was sick and asked for a bathroom upon entering. After being sick I returned to the lobby and sat down while my husband finished checking us in. The desk clerk explained that our room was ready but checkin was not until 300pm. She brought me water while I sat on the couch and then asked if we planned on going sightseeing. I read this as a sign that I was not allowed to sit in the lobby as most hotels would allow. When questioned, she stated that we could have the room early for $250. That was the rack rate while ******* was showing a rate of $178 per night at that time. The charge was $62.50 per hour for early checkin. There was no manager to speak to so we paid the fee. We were staying as Chase Sapphire members. If you are on a night flight and want to stay here, book the room for the night before to save money or stay at your frequent flier chain hotel for early checkin if the room is ready or at least a place to sit near a bathroom.

Really excellent apar**ents, large, comfortable, well equipped. Maid service and front desk was impeccable. I honestly could not fault the place, exceeded my expectations.
