The room is OK, not too big

Desolates Bad mit ausgerissenen Armaturen und schmuddelig. Duscheinstieg über hohen Badewannenrand nur für Leistungssportler. Badezimmertür unten wie von Mäusen abgenagt. Bett schief und durchgelegen. Teppichböden im ganzen Hotel voller Farbflecken. Zimmertür fleckig und seit Monaten nicht geputzt.

Hotel was reasonable. Food was very poor. Dry pasta, dry fish, probably just kept warm. And after reporting it, nothing was done about it. You can sleep there. But eat absolutely nothing. Ultimately, we went to Krefeld ourselves and had something to eat there.

There were dirty stains on the carpet in my room. Huge cobwebs on the ceiling. It's all very worn. For one night, yes, but you won't feel comfortable here.

For my big birthday, my wife and I invited our friends and family. We wanted to spend a wonderful evening with 40 people and we did. We were welcomed with champagne and then an extensive buffet. After a long evening, everyone slept excellently. The next morning, after breakfast together, we and all our guests drove home satisfied and happy. The basis of the lovely evening was the exceptionally friendly staff at reception, in the bar and throughout the evening. The bar for the champagne reception and the room for our meeting offered a very pleasant and warm atmosphere. The hotel had even set up a play area for the small children. The evening buffet was excellently put together by the hotel staff. The food was very varied, extremely tasty and the amount was more than sufficient. The birthday party was an absolute success for us, which our guests also confirmed. We would like to thank the Mercure Hotel for an evening that will be remembered for a long time and can absolutely recommend the hotel.

Excellent hotel as a base for visiting the German cities in the area. Easily accessible from the Netherlands. Quiet area. Parking next to the hotel and in the garage below (no extra costs charged by us). As described elsewhere, it is somewhat dated, but otherwise in good order and certainly recommended. Friendly staff, spacious room, delicious dinner and very extensive breakfast. Not all rooms are located on the central atrium. There are also quieter rooms in the side corridors. The atrium is a nice place to stay (with or without your travel group) while enjoying a cup of coffee or tea, which you can grab yourself on site. Room: We had a spacious room in a hallway on the ground floor. Safe and refrigerator in the room. Bathroom with bath. Large television. Excellent facilities. Our traveling companions had a walk-in shower instead of a bath and also an ironing board and iron in the room. Food: Delicious a la carte dinner, prices in line with current times. Sufficient choice of menu. There were also various seasonal dishes. Friendly waiter who also spoke good English. Breakfast very wide choice! In addition to various types of bread, also various hot dishes, in addition to the usual savory fillings, also various fresh cheeses. Also many types of milk and yoghurt products, including lactose-free variants. Recommendable!

Perhaps because the accommodation is old, the heating does not work properly. I inquired at the info desk, but they were unable to suggest a suitable solution and I caught a cold after the business trip. There is also a problem with the tap water, which is so dirty.
