Mitsis Rodos Maris

Very clean and well established stay! Poolside wasn't too big, but there were a couple. The beach was nice also.

We had a wonderful stay at Mitsis Rhodes Maris. The whole stay was perfect. My fiancé proposed to me during our stay and the staff team helped him make it magical. John, Marialena and Mr Stefanos were so helpful and went out of their way to help my fiancé plan the proposal. We had a beautiful 6 course candlelit dinner. Thank you to the housekeepers as well for the beautiful display they did when we got back to our room. We would definitely recommend this hotel and I hope we will be back soon!

Just returned from another stay at Mitsis Rodos Maris and once again the staff delivered an outstanding holiday experience for us. This was the first time we have visited at the very start of the season and this also included the Greek Easter celebrations too. For early May the weather was a very sunny 25 - 27 degrees all week although the evenings were cooler and a light jacket was beneficial if eating out. A special thank you to Stefanos and Rena for their warm welcome and hospitality as we fully enjoyed the dining experience across all the different a la carte menus. Food was excellent across all settings and was matched by the excellent service we received from their teams - a mix of familiar friends and some new faces who were led superbly by Dmitri and newly appointed captain Marigalena (a very well deserved promotion). Special mentions for Daniel and Isidora along with Chrissy and Nicole too, although we couldn't fault any of the teams. Restaurants can be pre-booked in advance using the Mitsis app and is well worth doing. Brunch is served until 12 (with a sea view) and is a great way to start your day. We spend our days by the beach and whilst the sea can be cold in early season, once you are in it is very relaxing - just take the plunge!! The beach bar provides ample refreshment and alongside Babis & Sotiris it was great to meet a couple of new faces too who are definitely Maris stars of the future - Iffy and Sakis were both great company. With all the food and drink on offer, a healthy balance is provided by the wonderful Angi who runs the Fitness programme for the hotel. She delivers outdoor workouts and pilates sessions in the mornings, followed by aqua gym (in the main pool) and beach volleyball or water polo. She is an absolute star and is highly qualified in her field. She will cater for all ages and abilities and is a pleasure to be around. Of course, the legendary Despina is still providing her infectious energy and fun and she continues to bring joy to everyone's day. If she is not at the beach she will be in the Gelateria bar by the main pool and she is the life and soul of the hotel. It was also great to see Vagelis once again (the best cocktail maker) and you have the wonderful Elisabeth, Maria and team who will serve your evening drinks without you needing to leave your table. A great location plus incredible staff adds up to another memorable holiday experience. Looking forward to seeing you all again in October.

Let’s start with the good: The hotel is situated by the beach which is really lovely and convenient. There are 2 beach bars and pizza place which was very good. The hotel is providing sun beds and towels and we had no issue finding it. We found that there are few shops at hotel. Besides main restaurant there is a caffe with ice cream and crepe and gyros corner place so you can truly never go hungry. Special thank you to handful of people who made our stay nicer : lady who was serving at cafe place very nice and always smiling, guys at pizza place asked about our holiday, whole main bar team but mainly nice lady I was chatting to in the mornings didn’t get her name but blond hair, lady who was serving at the main restaurant she was always outside dark hair and lady who I think was a manager called Irene who was everywhere and very hard working! she was serving us on our last day on Friday and made the experience a whole lot better with proper attention to detail! Bad things: unfortunately this is not a 5 start hotel, I think it may be a solid 3 perhaps 4 maximum. Don’t get me wrong place looks lovely but there is a lot that could and should improve. When we arrived we were quite optimistic as we had a member of staff taking us in little cart to our room which was a fun experience but the moment he opened the door it started to go downhill. The room was a lot older then what I saw on pictures when I was picking hotel and this disappoin**ent me as I really wanted to ensure our room is nice. It was very outdated and smelled a bit when we came in also we were given room with additional 2 beds which was unnecessary. The bathroom was the worst: tiny bath with broken shower head that was throwing water at you with very old tap that wouldn’t work properly. The food was average all across the board. Even when we went to restaurants which are provided by hotel food was very ok - nothing would blow us away. It wasn’t bad but it was not great which was disappointing as we were looking forward to Asian menu and tex mex. Asian experience was the worst meal we had because of the service - we were made feel like we are a nuisance. When we ordered drinks my partners beer arrived half full with the rest of glass made of foam and warm. again food was very average and nobody checked on us the whole time. Our server would barley speak and looked very uninterested. The service overall always made us feel a bit bad it felt like a big effort to get anything. We also found surprising that you have to even queue to main restaurant to be sat down as never had it before in other places. Servers looked overrun and understaffed with only a couple of people covering big sections of tables to clear also found it very unnecessary to have staff serve you drinks much prefer to go and grab something by myself also coffee machines were nigh**are especially in the morning when it’s busy. What an amazing two weeks away. The most beautiful customer service, the friendliest staff. Amazing a la carte restaurants! Mexican, Asian, Greek and American. The main restaurants food was incredible, definitely five star. The salad was incredible and so fresh and such a variety. We are used to staying in 5* so we can be good references. I laugh at the reviews that are negative. I would have some constructive feedback but as a whole the place was awesome. We wanted to make a special mention of Elizabeth and her beautiful service. She adores her job and nothing is too much bother. She is an absolute gem. All of the staff were fabulous. Please visit this hotel don’t pay attention to the negativity, you’ll be missing out. With regards entertainment there was plenty for adults and the kids! Everyday there was something happening at the beach or pool, the kids all looked so happy. Thanks again for everything

I went with my husband and 3 chidlren. It was the worst holiday we have been on. Pool safety is bad (no lifeguards on duty). When I asked reception they stared that the was 1 life guard for the beach and hotel and he works at the beach. Then when I was informed there were lifeguards. They had shorts on no tops and looked like hotel guests with no obvious sign they were life guards. There are no safety mats around the edge of the pool. I fell and injured myself. The food was not great a poor selection. The entertainment was virtually non existent and there was nothing to do for the kids at all so wasn't really suitable for families with chidlren.

Great hotel, last stayed at this hotel 15 years ago with a friend. Back here again for a week with the same friend. Not disappointed at all. I will be back here again at the same hotel in July with my wife who has only experience the Rhodes winter. The rooms are clean & tidy. A choice a several bars in the complex. The only ****** was the tea, coffee & milk in the rooms was not replenished, not such a big deal really. Several restaurants available offer different menus & styles. Apparently there is some work being done later in the year to freshen up some areas but again no complaints.

Good hotel, good staff, good beach, good food, good all inclusive but it is not 5 star. 4 things that make it 4 star or less. Our room was next to the only building work on the site and the works were not hidden away and the step/walkway we had had to use every time we left our room was not visually pleasant or made safe by the use of Warnings and or safety tape etc. There was a drain approximately 9meters away from our garden balcony but due to lack of maintenance it had a large hole in the side of the drain cover that let out a constant smell. The ala carte dining was fully booked from the day we arrived and the only way to get on the reserve list was to ask at the reception, it is pointless advertising something you need to book in advance of travelling. The final thing is the room we got was described a bungalow, it was in a 2 story building. We had a good 4 day stay and all the above were not deal breakers but 5 star resorts proactively work to minimise the issues above.
