Filoxenia Hotel Apartments

This is honestly one of the best places I’ve stayed! The entire stay we was made to feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble! There’s lots to do in Rhodes and after a busy day exploring it’s like coming back to your own slice of paradise! Can’t rate highly enough 5 stars isn’t enough!

The welcome at The Filoxenia Hotel is second to none! The atmosphere is friendly, laid back, relaxed, helpful and warm. There is no problem that can’t be fixed straight away. The food in the Herbs and Olives Taverna, owned by the family, is delicious. Of note are the BBQ and traditional Greek nights. Brilliant! Every mouthful is fresh, well cooked and served with pride and love by all the staff and family. Nikos and Evangelia work hard to make the whole place run with efficiency and care. She makes lots of lovely homemade traditional products that are of excellent quality, priced competitively and preferable to others elsewhere. The gardens and buildings are immaculate. It is spotless. The rooms are cleaned daily and clean towels are provided daily too. There are nice facilities in the rooms for self catering and small supermarkets nearby for essentials. Although near the airport, the aircraft did not bother us. There is an excellent bus service right outside the hotel. The pool areas are excellent too. What can I say, the hospitality is perfect. Beautiful grounds and room, cleaned very well daily. The restaurant is excellent and serves quality fresh made food. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We went back in September and we had put some money under a drawer in our apartment. On our arrival home after the holiday we realized that we had forgot the money. I contacted the hotel and the owner found our money and sent it back to us. It caused a lot of inconvenience for them and we were very grateful that they were so honest. Being animal lovers, we really loved getting to know the resident dogs and cats.

Absolutely love these beautiful apartments.. my 2nd home! We have been back each year for the last several years, and always get a real family welcome. Stunning grounds, olive groves, lemon trees, pomegranate trees and beautiful roses and flowers everywhere! It is spotlessly clean and always delicious wonderful food. Can’t wait to go back again next year. Love to Eva and Nicos, a beautiful couple who own this amazing place and work endlessly and always have a smile for you.

Fantastic brilliantly run hotel which we used as a base for three weeks to explore the island, Symi and Chalki. Friendly owners with excellent staff especially the young lady who cleaned our fantastic room 72 with regular towel and linen change . Highly recommended

Received warm.welcome from Nikos despite late arrival. Stayed in superior studio which was beautifully decorated with the comfiest beds. The gardens are well maintained and so colourful. The working museum is really interesting and novel. There is air noise but you would expect that given close proximity to the airport. Food in the apartments is traditional and tasty. Pool area clean and pools maintained regularly. The whole complex is spotlessly clean. The resort doesnt have many traditional restaurants and only one bar but enough if you dont want to party. Beach about 30 mins walk away with basic but nice beach bar. Great to watch kite surfers. Pebble beach but nice to swim in. Sadly I had a fall a week into the holiday but cant thank Nikos and Evangelina for their help and attention. Big thank you to Marina and her mum for all their kindness and to all the staff who looked after me so well. All the guests were also supportive and so kind to me and Joe and we were really amazed by the kindness of everyone. Thankfully the fractures have healed nicely ! My advice, of you do need hospital attention, dont go to Euromedica as they didnt spot the fractures, thankfully the general hospital did and prescribed adequate pain relief and advice. Thanks again for all your support and we will definitely return. 1😉

We can only repeat again the excellent comments posted by others. This was our fifth visit to Rhodes and Filoxenia and our whole experience from minute of arrival to departure was excellent. We arrived late evening to a wonderful welcome. Nikos, Evangelia and their team are so cheerful and helpful. The food is delicious and our rooms were kept very clean with sheet and towel changes daily. The location is idyllic if your are looking for a peaceful holiday with beautiful views over the Aegean Sea, a great pool area, with plenty of sun loungers, nice walks along the nearby beach and a local bus service into Rhodes Town. The gardens at Filoxenia are lovely too with many different fruits and flowers which eventually find their way into Evangelia's delicious home made desserts and liquers. BBQ and Greek nights are very good, and although it has always been our intention to eat out more often to try other local greek food, we inevitably eat in most days as the food is so good. We came as a family this time with our daughter and her fiancé who also had a great time. Special thanks for making John's birthday special. We will be back! Anne, Peter, Alexandra and John

My stay was nothing short of amazing! From the moment I stepped in, I was welcomed with open arms and treated like a cherished guest. My room was like a cozy haven and the price was just right for the incredible experience. The service was beyond exceptional – the staff made me feel like family. I can't wait to return to this little slice of paradise.

Myself and my partner decided to visit Rhodes to celebrate her 30th Birthday. We wanted somewhere slightly quieter away from lively hustle and bustle of a city and stumbled upon Filoxenia Apartments. After reading reviews we decided to book and are so glad we did. We arrived late in the evening to the hotel and after our transfer asked if the kitchen was open. We were told it had just closed however they would be happy to reopen to ensure we had dinner. We were shown to our room by Nikos the owner who throughout the holiday was extremely friendly and as helpful as he could be. We were roomed in the closest room downstairs to the pool and location was perfect, whilst the rooms may seem slightly dated they fit the decor of the hotel perfectly and have everything you need, even a small kitchenette area where we prepared a couple of meals whilst we stayed. The room was very clean and cleaned daily. I can’t comment on Air Con as we stayed at a time when it was comfortable enough that we didn’t need it. Good sized fridge too. Our first morning there I had arranged to pick up a hire car from a town along called Paradisi, Monza car hire (Location of the hotel means you would definitely benefit from hiring a car to get around the island, cost is very good!) I asked Nikos if he could call us a taxi to Paradisi to collect our hire car. Nikos told me to sit and have a drink and he would take me and my partner. Within 30 minutes he took us in his own car to the hire car place and informed us of local supermarkets and attractions. Extremely kind of him. The hotel food itself is authentic Greek but does also have some more British dishes for those who might be more fussy. Drinks and Food cost was very reasonable. I recommend booking the BBQ night that happens once a week, it gets busy so book early. Very good food and in abundance. The pool is extremely clean, not heated I don’t believe but is situated so it gets as much sun as possible. There were plenty of sun beds for guests. Locally a shirt walk away there are a small supermarket and several restaurants that we tried all of. No complaints with any of them. Spitaki for authentic Greek, Mariposa for more fancy dinner and Billy’s Place for hearty food and good drinks. We also did day trips to Symi and Halki which we booked locally at an excursions office near Mariposa who were extremely friendly and accommodating. Even gifting my partner flowers and a small gift on her birthday when we were picked up for an excursion. Highly recommend. We can’t wait to visit Rhodes again following our visit and will definitely be staying at Filoxenia Apartments next time. Our last night we were lucky enough to enjoy the traditional Greek dancing show in the hotel. Nikos, his partner and hotel chef joined in and encouraged guests to join in.
