Super 8 by Wyndham Richmond/Chamberlayne Rd

It wasnt great. Vending machines broken. Great amount of mold in bathroom and shower curtain and also the window curtain.

The guy behind the desk was pleasant enough. Unfortunately, that is where a positive experience ends. The room was not cleaned well. The bathroom was gross. Dried pee on the bathroom floor, a greasy shower floor that had black dirt wash down the drain when I walked on it. Also, it felt slimy and there were no slipfree *****s in the tub. The mirror was not clean either. The next day I walked out and saw the cleaning crew and told them I was ready for them to clean and was off to work. When I got back, I saw they did not clean the room. I told the desk and he looked in the paperwork and said "Housekeeping said I had a DND sign on the door" There wasn't even such a sign in the room and being that I directly asked them to clean, they clearly lied. They charge you a dollar a day for having a safe in the room for you to use, WHICH DOSE NOT WORK ! For the rate I got the room, I can't complain about things like the dirty recliner or where there is a patch in the ceiling of the bathroom too much but a clean floor and fresh towels, is it too much to ask?

My first room, room 109 had a door that didn’t lock. Anyone can walk in anytime. The sink was clogged, when I asked for a room they sent me upstairs to a smoking room with over a dozen cigarette burns in the bedsheets and black mold by the TV, said they’d help in an hour with a 3rd room, while I was on an important business call the door was banged on and they demanded I switch rooms then and there. The next day there the hotel staff yelled at my traveling mate for not grabbing towels when housekeeping came by and asking upfront for them. Why is that an issue? Do your job! I had pre paid for 4 nights and was no way I could stay another there. They did not refund me for the 4th night, decided to leave my trip early. This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

We picked the Super 8 because of its location, price and the promise of breakfast. The location and room were good bargains. However, breakfast was basically non-existent. There was regular coffee - no decaf, no tea - watery orange juice and apple juice. We were each provided with 4 mini-muffins, and were told we could only have 4. That was the extent of the spread.

Room was very nice and clean. Very disappointed with the so- called breakfast. This location only had out juice, coffee and bite sized brownies. They advertised cereal being available but there was no cereal and nothing else was brought out. After bringing out the brownies which aren’t even a breakfast food, thought maybe they would be bringing out at least some cereal but hotel employee just sat back at the computer at the lobby desk. Not expecting a lot for $83 a night but at least have cereal available. Also when checking out, the hotel lobby employee asked me to leave a review which turned me off. It’s up to the customer to leave a review. A hotel shouldn’t ask a customer to leave one. Thanks.

Elevator out of order, vending machine out of order, cable tv in my room didn’t work, internet connection labeled as”not to be trusted “, clerk could not direct me to a restaurant
