Holiday Inn Express Manchester Airport

Very good value hotel for such a close location to Manchester Airport! The staff are friendly and helpful the decoration is quite old but we had no issues with our room. I would recommend this hotel if you have an early flight or coming home on a late one. Plus there is a very good breakfast included! Served only from 7am

While being close to the airport on a map, in reality, due to the road layout you will have a longer than expected drive sonics no closer than other hotels located on the Manchester side of the motorway. So basically any premium you are willing to pay to be closer to the airport is less worth it than you would hope. Room was similar to a travelodge and tge sofa bad was particularly uncomfortable and was sloping uphill to the foot end, that was my friends hard luck, I had the normal bed which was fine. So if you hate your family members or friends you can make them sleep in that contraption. This hotel is okay for a few hours sleep close to the airport, anything more than that and you might be bitterly disappointed. The staff were great however, professional, attentive and helpful, even at 3am. Breakfast was good aswell, we only had 4 to 5 hours between check in and check out so was very tired and the breakfast was surprisingly good and again the service on entering the restaurant was great. Car park was fine, well-lit etc. This hotel is easy to find and just off the motorway and at the right price it's worth using but if there are cheaper in the same area then just use them as the others are no worse and no better.

Excellent location, very close to the airport

Great value overnight deal including hearty cooked breakfast. Pleasant enough hotel with good food and a bar open until 1am. One slight criticism is that it is listed as Holiday Inn Express - Manchester Airport. Whilst it seems a lot closer to what will be the NEW terminal 2, its probably 45 mins walk from terminal 1. (Taxi fare will set you back about £15)

All the staff we encountered were very professional, very organised and friendly too, perfect. The food at dinner was variable. Scampi and chips perfect but the pie and chips ordered came not as ordered but was then changed. The pie was very hard and the gravy served separately was cold. Not pleasant at all. Breakfast however was excellent, five stars. We booked a twin but got a king sized bed and a sofa bed already made up. After remaking the bed, the duvet was just not put in correctly, the duvet cover had a stain on it which was a little concerning. The sofa bed was not fit for purpose except for perhaps a small child. A double bed but about 6cm deep with the springs right on the surface. We couldn’t use it, just hand pressure was enough to feel you would fall through and neither of us are over 11 stone! The shower cubicle almost filled up to over flowing the lip and was very very slippery, a mat was provided thank goodness but it felt unsafe. Window vent was broken so that also gave us a problem. Great staff, awesome breakfast but maintainence maybe needs work and if you book a twin room be prepared to have to share a bed anyway!
