The location is super good, right next to the Marriott Hotel. The door is Copacabana beach. The breakfast is very good, rich, and the wifi signal is good. Especially amazing is the swimming pool on the 15th floor, invincible sea views, can shoot very beautiful night views, hotel facilities in general, rooms are a bit small, we set There are three beds in the double room, and the child may have urinated on the bed. The smell of diarrhea is very big. He changed rooms, and the hygiene is normal. The new check-in is because the hair in the bathroom has not been cleaned. Late, but only on the first day there is a bottle of free bottled water, breakfast meals can not be packed in advance, there is a small supermarket behind the hotel, overall recommended stay, you can score four points

beach. Hotel looks good on first impression but on closer looking lobby is tired, sofas need cleaning. Rooms very very basic, covers so dated, doors shabby. There is strange sort of small lounge as you come in which doesn't serve any purpose. Curtains didn't meet, only two sockets worked. Air conditioning button seemed to have loose wires and you had to jiggle the switch about to get it working. The tv was a big old grey version (didn't think they were still used) only CNN channel. Breakfast not really good couldn't get a normal cup of tea. Not everyone likes flavoured. Asked for natural tea told didn't have any. Staff not very friendly asked if they could print boarding passes and told no system was done but clearly they were using it at the desk, concierge gentlemen were very nice. The hotel is well located near the pharmacies, restaurants and markets. I was surprised at the time of check-in that the two rooms were next to each other and when they arrived in the room they were combined. I found our daughters great, though they were not young, but I like they were close to our room, and the rooms were spacious, with front box and fridge, flat-screen TV, split, comfortable beds, safe and bathroom with dryer. The noise was little, but we were on the 11th floor, and the cleaning was done every day, which impressed me. The breakfast is excellent, with varied fruits, water, juices, coffee, milk (ice and hot), bread, cakes, eggs, etc. I loved.

Hotel with many passengers and therefore very noisy, all the noise entered the room. Late check-in. The room key/card would not get the room, three times I had to go to the front desk until the key worked. The terrace and the pool are very small. It's not an ugly hotel, but...

The location is very good, close to the metro and the beach (about 3 or 4 blocks from both)... The hotel has comfortable, small rooms, I found the room clean, but there were some marks of mold on the walls... I'm fine I'm allergic, but I didn't smell mold in the room and I didn't have allergies... The air conditioning was weak, so I always had to leave it at 18° to cool the room... The staff is very attentive, I didn't need many services, but when I needed them, they were good.... The breakfast is delicious and has a lot of options, I post a photo of my dish here and there were more options on the buffet that I didn't want to take... It's a hotel that used to be fancier and is now a cheap hotel, you have to keep that in mind...

Let me tell you about my stay, I went to Rio de Janeiro Brazil for 6 weeks from Sept to Oct 2020 for medical tourism.  During my trip and when I was not in the hospital having surgery I stayed at Hotel Vilamar and I'm so thankful I did.  There are so many things I could list, but I'll just list a few.  After my first surgery and I checked in, I was greeted by the Hotel manager Cecilia.  She was very kind, caring and assisted me in so many ways. She sent me to a wonderful salon to get my hair fixed after 6 days in the hospital.  If my friend (from The UK and I from The US) and I did not show up for breakfast because my face was all black & blue, or issues walking (I had 2 surgeries while there) she or her staff would call our room to see if we needed food sent up to our room. (I do not know if that's standard but to my friend and I, we felt special.)  If we ever called down to the front desk, or stopped at the desk and asked for something, the staff at Hotel Vilamar was on it, and took care of our needs.  In the morning when we would go for breakfast, the girls there would always greet us by our names and ask how we were and always asked if we needed anything. The gentlemen behind the desk were always pleasant and referred us to some great places to see that we did not know about.  One day I had to go to the pharmacy that was right next to the hotel but all the staff only spoke Portugese, Cecilia went with me to the pharmacy and helped me get everything I needed.  One day, post facial surgery I could only eat soft food and my eyes were all swollen, one of the staff members walked across the street to a gelato store and helped me get something to gelato.  The housekeeping staff was always kind and worked around me while I was recovering.   The hotel was always clean and shiny and the staff very attentive to our needs, but they were kind and treated us like family.  There is so much I could add about Cecilia and her staff, but I just want to say;  ”They not only meet our needs but they exceeded in meeting our expectation of the treatment someone staying at a hotel should receive. I have a friend who will be going to Rio very soon, I have already told them about Hotel Vilamar and she will be reaching out to them soon and I plan on returning during 2021 for another 4 to 6 weeks and I would stay at no other hotel.  I truly give them 10 stars!

I stayed here with 4 friends and this hotel perfectly suited our needs. We stayed in an executive room with a small balcony. You could see Copacabana beach which was a nice bonus. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice for vegetarians and meat eaters. Lovely fresh fruit and a delicious walnut bread. We did not eat here for dinner so couldn't comment on that. Location was perfect, eateries and bars nearby if you do not want to venture far. Beach literally a 2 minute walk away. The rooftop pool was small but enough for you to cool off and sip a cocktail or two by. The station was close as well as Ipanema, sugar loaf and CTR. I would say this is not a luxury hotel, but more than suited our needs for a girlie week away In the sun. PLEASE - hooks in the bathroom, an iron board and tea facilities in room would be great. SHOUT OUT - to Leonardo, Marina and the other receptionist wearing glasses plus all the breakfast staff. You were all excellent and helped to make our stay enjoyable.

Old, very old and sleeved beds and beds. Clean but sleeved and broken. Towels: very used, with some sleeves. It's time for them to make a complete renovation. It's the basic thing that is asked for a 3-star hotel. Cleanliness: very light, upstairs. A bad breakfast: abundant, missing more variety of fruit, with everything Brazil has was scarce. Excellent staff. Mobile: old, with little maintenance. Time of replacement. nice: on the head of bed there were the beads of light, i.e. when you wanted to sleep with the coat you took the light without wishing. The hotel was very comfortable and very comfortable.

My four-night stay here while visiting RJ couldn’t have been better and more suited for my basic needs as a solo traveler. I knew coming in that I wouldn't be receiving luxury, spaciousness, or any big perks common at higher-end chains—I booked for the unbeatable $29 price and wonderful location, and nothing more. So if you’re expecting anything extra, this isn’t the property for you. But I really enjoyed my stay!! The staff, especially a super nice woman at check-in whose name I dreadfully forget, made my visit special. Everyone was willing and excited to help with anything I needed, including supplying me copious bottles of water to last me the week. When I needed a wheelchair-accessible taxi to pick up my wheelchair when it lost battery, the aforementioned woman was so kind and helpful for calling local companies and their drivers to find someone on a moment’s notice. Thank you! The rooms were definitely small and basic, but they were clean and in far better shape than most Ibis properties I would end up staying at while in Europe in June 2022. My electric wheelchair just barely fit through the door and into the space. Knowing that all I really needed at a hotel on my RJ trip was just a bed to lay my head on, the Ibis Budget provided me that, put simply. I also requested a room facing the interior apartment block area (i.e. away from the street), and noise levels were perfect for my sensitive ears. Traffic in RJ isn’t too noisy anyway, but I recommend these rooms for anyone in any case. Stays like these are what make me grateful to be a loyal newcomer to Accor and their rewards program. I very much enjoyed my stay, and for your wallet’s sake, I recommend booking here. And the location…mere blocks from Copacabana! Thank you!

Many pluses staying here. Great location - around are restaurants, fast food (McDonald's, BK, Domino's, etc), shops, Super marts, Money changer and the Copacabana beach is a short walk away (5mins). Breakfast is really good with a wide selection. Staff were responsive, helpful and polite. Check in was easy and quick. The room I had did not have a view but no biggie. Mini fridge, TV, safe. Room is small but manageable. Hotel entrance is just at the main road, easy for Uber/taxi pick up and loading of luggage. Security is good - there's always someone present at the main door. Will definitely stay again if I return to Rio.
