I warn potential guests that the hotel does not respond readily to questions. I had two questions, about the room facilities (is there a handle shower?), so I phoned up. My first attempt landed with a North American call centre, where the operative was unable to either answer the questions or put me through to the hotel. He said that I should redial and I would then be offered different numbers to press, to get through. I did this, and spoke to the same person. I did speak to somebody at the hotel eventually, put through by the Event Centre. Given the unsatisfactory answer on the shower, we decided to go elsewhere. We did not want an accessible room. I was told that the showers are fixed rather than detachable, contrary to the photos on both the Marriott and Tripadvisor websites. Other reviewers have referred to the £12 per day parking charge, even though cheaper parking at £5 (which the website does not tell you about) is available just outside the hotel. For an out-of town site, I consider the charge unreasonable, and I do not like the lack of transparency either.
