We just returned from the Mystique a couple of weeks ago. I would like to share the goods and not so good experiences that we had. First, we are a family of four with two teenagers. When we booked with an agent and checked out social media, it seemed breathtaking. Well, depending on what you were looking for, it was. The location of the hotel was a dream. We were located on the bay between pigeon island, mountains and the best beeches on the north side of the island. The 2 hour drive from the airport is worth it as it took you the beautiful scenery of the island. The beaches in St. Lucia are all public so you do tend to get approached by local people but as friendly as they are, once you are not interested they will leave. As for the hotel, when we arrived we learned that the two resorts on the bay will be closing down which might of explained the lack of services however the costs did not reflect the lack of privileges that were promised. There was absolutely NO entertainment on the resort neither during the day nor evening. There was a person who just played some music sometimes. Most people left the resort to get some action. We have two teens so we went on a well worth excursion not courtesy of the hotel. That made the trip worthwhile. The food was basic buffet. The same thing cooked in different ways. There were tons of bugs in the fruit. We were expecting fresh tropical fruit and were disappointed with the basic melons and pineapples and apples offered. There was an omelet bar that we were grateful for as it was cooked fresh. At lunch, we ate from the beach hut which was a burger, quesadillas or nachos everyday. At dinner, we enjoyed the restaurant the second night but never opened up again due to lack of staff as per the manager’s explanation. We ate at the buffet every night which was different flavoured rice, pork, chicken and plantain. It was nothing special and not esthetically pleasant. We should not need to leave an all inclusive resort for food! The service was respectful and friendly. Lastly, after dinner, we just walked around a quiet resort and turned in. For my husband and I, we got Andy with this much rest and so you could imagine, our teens. Thank goodness for the beach, pool and the excursion with no help from the resort itself. You have to pay extra for everything! It’s not all inclusive. Lastly, we did decide to leave the resort and attend the famous street party. It was fun! Lastly, and most importantly the customer service. Our flight (WESTJET) got cancelled the last night and no one knew what to do. The front desk did not know and then we found out that we had a tour rep the whole week and that they left for the day after the fact. No one communicated this with us. Despite all the other stressors that came with this, we contacted the main Royalton resort who kept us waiting all day with no directions on what to do. In the end, sent us to the airport (2 hours away) where most people had left for the day. I spoke
