Very dishonest staff and the manager did not help the situation. I checked in when I had a standard room and I requested a room for two beds and asked if I would be charged. They told me I would not be charged. I also double-checked the following day with the front desk and told me I would not be charged. Upon checking out, they told me I was charged $144. Terrible and the manager did help the situation. It was my first time to Burundi and had this terrible welcome at this hotel and will never stay here again. I would never recommend this hotel. Watch out

I stayed at Maratha hotel for six nights. The staff at the front desk were friendly and provided an efficient check in. The room was really lovely with good view. The linens on the bed were very comfortable and clean. The staff were excellent and most of the time they ordered a taxi to take me around. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend to anyone staying in the Bujumbura.

As a part of the Burundian policy, arriving passengers need to be in a 4 days (2 COVID-19 tests) confinement. It is an hotel, easy accessible, with good WIFI connection. The rooms are spacious and there is enough hot water to take a bath. Due to the confinement, no access to the pool or restaurant was allowed, so... nothing much to do if you do not have your PC with you. Limited channels on television. The room with a view on the lake is beautiful. Service is excellent, as they know you are in confident, they go that extra mile to make it as pleasant as possible under the circumstance, which are not under their control... I enjoyed the stay

Last week I was participating in a 4 days meeting at Martha Hotel - The hotel is about 30 minutes from airport - Overlooking a very nice view of the green mountains and the lake (Tanganyika Lake) form the 5th floor where our meeting room was located we had a nice terrace from where you can enjoy this view as if you are in Switzerland (It is true when they say (Burundi is Switzerland of Africa. - My room (102) was very big (a big suite) very nicely equipped have a big terrace overlooking the pool - The food was very good (during our stay we had 3 meals + 2 coffee breaks daily (different varieties of menus) - Hotel Staff are very nice, cooperative and qualified (Thank you to front office, F&B and room service staff) - I recommend this nice hotel for meetings, business, leisure groups and families.
