Room dark and dingy, needs a complete redecorate, bathroom very tired fittings all loose plug sockets loose no WIFI in room, no tea/coffee making facilities in room (vending machine at other end of hotel 5 minute walk) Bed uncomfortable, breakfast is a good 5 minute walk through the church entrance through a dark and dingy damp smelling tunnel to stairs then a lift to a lovely terrace with fabulous views, breakfast is very basic and no self service for either food or hot drink, Staff are very friendly and helpful its just the place itself which lets it down, location is good with transport links nearby. This is just somewhere to sleep and the photos are nothing like where we stayed, look at at all the reviews before you book.

So disappointed, it really is a budget hotel. The only good thing I can say is that it’s quiet and a reasonable location for transport. We had no help with luggage, there was a strange smell around the hotel, the beds were like sleeping on concrete, the most inadequate hair dryer. Roof top ‘bar’ didn’t exist. We arrived at breakfast the first day at 9, most of the food had run out which was a surprise considering they knew how many residents there were! Staff were rude when I questioned this. I wouldn’t stay again, I’d rather pay extra for a decent nights sleep!!

The spirit and a**osphere of this building was fantastic. It is certainly not luxurious which it doesn’t pretend to be however rarely will you get an opportunity to stay in such a building. Like others who left a review the terrace was great to use in the evening after a long day. We used the cafe over the road, their sandwiches were amazing and extremely reasonable in price, six euros each. The tram can be picked up over the road and metro too. The metro is rife with picket pockets so be vigilant. The metro is extremely busy and makes London tubes in peak time look quiet.

A most unusual hotel off the usual tourist track although in walking distance of Rome's historic centre and convenient for Metro and trams. The Superior Rooms are large, airy and remarkably quiet. Breakfast is basic; the staff cheerful and helpful. This is not a tourist centre (though there is much to see nearby) and there are only two or three restaurants in walking distance. All are pretty good and therefore very popular with locals, so booking advised as the hotel has no restaurant or bar. Tip for travellers: the hotel will call a taxi (with set fare) to Ciampino airport. The journey takes about 25 minutes an is far easier thank trying to negotiate the metro and Rome Termini with luggage looking for the airport bus!

I genuinely do not quite know what to say. Positives; A 10 minute walk from the Metro station San Giovanni where you can literally get to all the sights on the A line. If you like to walk, 25 minutes to the Coliseum and add another for Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps. Negatives; once a monastery it is very ‘basic’. It takes about 5 minutes walk from reception, down stairs and a long corridor before reaching the lift. The room was adequate, small window, air con not effective. Basic tired bathroom. The receptionist was keen to promote the roof terrace- a lovely place with wonderful views and a modern glass central area- BUT- it has no use- there is NO bar or restaurant in the hotel, the space is used for what I can only call a very basic and oddly served breakfast, unlike other self serve hotels this has a couple of tables where two blokes (not sure even if they were staff (no uniform) gave you what you asked but the menu limited and a tip jar on the table??? There are a couple of good eateries directly opposite but little else. To say for the price it was fair, but I wouldn’t go again as it has absolutely no soul.
