Salotto Monti

I had posted on Google but wanted to ensure my feelings were captured here. My experience at the Salotto Monti was A+. Despite seeing some of the most iconic places in the world, my favorite experience in Rome was the people who worked at the hotel. Thank you, Rosa and Giorgia, for making us want to visit Rome again and again.

We booked this hotel for a short trip and wanted somewhere central. The hotel itself is walkable (20 minutes) from the train station which was convenient and 15 minutes to the colosseum and trevi fountain, so the location is excellent for this. The building itself is old and has an elevator to the hotel on floor 3 which is fine and it’s fairly easy to locate. The staff were welcoming and friendly, they let us check in early because our room was ready and stored our suitcases so we could explore on the final day after checkout time which was helpful. The main downside of this hotel is the noise, wow the noise. We had the small double which looked out onto the main road/side road which we accepted would be noisy in central Rome but the internal noise is something else. There is a big door separating rooms from reception which doesn’t seem to be used. The doors to the rooms are very thin so you can hear everything going on outside. If you’re a heavy sleeper you might just cope. The breakfast is nice, basic but nice. The terrace outside is lovely. We did ask for a recommendation for dinner one night and were given a business card for a restaurant which the lady said was very nice and she’d tried herself. When we looked on their website we saw that they were owned by the same chain as the hotel. We didn’t go, we wanted a genuine recommendation. Overall, wouldn’t stay again but fine for a short trip. Lady on checkout wasn’t surprised when we said it was too noisy.

An amazing boutique hotel in the heart of Monti Rome with the kindest staff. Our room was beautifully prepared with lots of special touches and was a lovely place to make home for our few days away. The breakfast was delicious with everything fresh and lovingly prepared. To be able to eat it on the pretty little roof terrace was a real treat. It's in a fantastic location, easily walkable to all the sites and we felt safe and welcomed by the staff at Salotto Monti. Thank you for an amazing stay. Rome was everything we wanted and more and if the legend of the Trevi Fountain is true our coins will bring us back and we will definitely stay here again.

It was a pleasant stay. The hotel’s location is great and the personnel at the front desk were friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our brief stay at Salotto Monti. It was a clean hotel in a building with character. We thought the room was pretty cozy and close to attractions / food.

Nice little spot in the Monti area! Great location, good A/C and comfortable bed. The patio is communal but nice, we enjoyed a complimentary cappuccino out there. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a little on the small side but had everything you need, safe, mini fridge, hangers. We could hear some noise from our neighbors but didn't keep us up. It is in an older building which means an old style elevator, only 3 people, 2 with luggage at a time, hotel is on the 4th floor. We didn't mind at all and thought the building was cool. Monti area nearby has tons of great shops and restaurants
