Staff provided an excellent service with charm and smiles all round. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Breakfasts were very good, beautifully presented and always with great ingredients freshly cooked including the pastries. I loved the fact that tables were served individually, plentifully and efficiently (thank goodness there was no buffet - I detest communal self-service). The top floor suite was smart, but in some respects, it was style over function. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, hot water was plentiful and the towel radiators always hot. Design issues didn't make it the perfect experience - for example: the bed was too close to the wardrobe hindering access and drawer storage was limited. The space could have been arranged more effectively. The lighting system didn't function as intended and adjusting the air-conditioning system controls in the room was futile. It had to be over-ridden by staff at reception. We selected a temperature and they set it - so not ideal. We paid for a view which was of a building opposite - nothing else in sight from narrow windows, which positively provided good sound-proofing. From the street view shown, it is obviously not a wide road which naturally limits the view. That was the most disappointing aspect of our stay - the BA holiday for one week including flights, breakfast and a questionable view cost £9,000. However, I have to reiterate that each and every one of the staff we met really made our stay most enjoyable.
