Wonderful location in Trastevere! We were able to walk to all attractions in Rome. You step out of the building and are surrounded by restaurant after restaurant and many shops. The room was large, spacious and the BEST shower I’ve ever had in Europe. Michaela and Elisa the hosts were super kind and welcoming. Before our stay communication was top notch . Definitely would stay here again in the future.
Response from Property: Thank you for your beautiful review Maxine. We are really happy that you enjoyed your stay with us and in Trastevere. We always try our best to help our guests during their stay and when reading your kind words we felt really happy and proud. Me and my cousin Elisa hope to have the chance to host you again in the future. In the meantime, we wish you all the best :) Warm regards, Michaela and Elisa Ferrini

We had a super stay here (for the Rugby, Italy vs. England). The rooms are very modern, light and have everything you need (small fridge, Iron, Ironing board, complimentary Tea & Coffee, small snacks). We were lucky and had a room with a small balcony, very nice for sitting in the morning and having a coffee :-). Best of all is Michaela, such a lovely lady. After booking in and getting all the formalities done, she proceeded to give us a map of Rome, pointing out all the landmarks, how to get there, which transport we could use as well as giving us recommendations for the local area (Trastevere) for eating and shopping (as well as tips for pubs). Really friendly and helpful. If you are looking for somewhere to stay, that this is the place to go. Well worth *6* Stars :-) Mille Grazie Michaela!

Fantastic stay here. Room was large and pillows and bed were comfortable. The staff and owner are great. The location is perfect in Trastevere. Easy walk or quick bus to the centre of Rome. This location is quieter and loads of restaraunts and eateries. I highly recommend this hotel

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights at the end of May / beginning of June. What a beautiful and perfect place to stay. If we come back to Rome then we will only stay here. Fantastic location in Trastevere, 5 mins from the bars and restaurants. We walked to all the major sites such as Pantheon, Trevi, even Castle St Angelo. The room we stayed in was large, with a lovely big bed, great pillows and air conditioning. Small fridge perfect for your water on a hot day. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Towels replaced daily if wanted, room cleaned every day and bed made. Bathroom was clean and modern with a lovely shower. Iron and board, hairdryer provided. Shampoos, soap and moisturiser bottles in the room TV with many channels, all in Italian in each room, but we didn't want to watch TV anyway. We looked out onto the main road, but the windows are so good we didn't hear any noise at all. Perfect night sleep every night. Elevator available to use to reach the third floor where the rooms and reception are. You have your own set of keys for the front door, a key for the main door and then your room key. A safe is provided in each room. In summary, don't stay anywhere else. JUST STAY HERE, ITS PERFECT.
Response from Property: Thank you very very much for your beautiful, detailed and thoughtful review !! It's been really a pleasure for us to host you and we feel truly happy to know that you appreciated our efforts to make you feel comfortable and to help you to enjoy your Roman stay to the fullest. We are also very happy that you loved your room and our location. We share the same love for Trastevere and we just feel happy to see that it's the same for you. If you will ever decide to visit Rome again, we sincerely hope to host you again :-) Wishing you all the best, Elisa and Michaela Ferrini

Just spent a week staying in this lovely boutique hotel which is very conveniently located near the centre of Rome. It offers a choice of 4 individually styled double rooms, all of which have a modern design, with high quality fittings, spacious and spotlessly clean, with maid service every day. We stayed in the one which has a balcony which was superb. A small number of breakfast items are put in the room each day, and there are tea / coffee making facilities with a fridge. The owners, Elisa and Michaela, are wonderful hosts, who take a real pride and interest in making sure their guests have an enjoyable stay in Rome. For our stay they helped us with transport options in the city, a trip to Orvieto and advice on restaurants, which really helped us make the most of our city visit. The rooms are on the third floor of a larger block and have a lift and stairs and your own set of keys mean you can come and go as you please. Another real bonus of this accomodation is it’s location in Trastevere which is full of local bars and restaurants and has a real buzz about it. It’s also just south of the river and only 5 mins walk to Tiber Island and all the main sites can be reached in 20-30mins on foot. We literally walked to everything. In short, if you want a lovely room at a very fair price in a great area then this place is all you need. For any future stays in Rome we won’t look anywhere else.

We stayed there for only 1 night. Our stay was really enjoyable. The hotel host made us feel at home and gave us lovely recommendations on routes and dinning options. The room was just the right temperature and very comfortable. The hotel is walk-able distance to all the popular sites which we enjoyed. I highly recommend this gem.

We loved staying here! Perfect location for walking to drinks and dinner in Trastevere. We walked to all the locations except did a taxi to the Vatican. Michaela and Elisa were so nice and accommodating. Rooms were spacious, clean, modern, comfortable. We felt very safe and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend this to family and friends.

I learned that Trastevere is an ideal part of town to visit Rome ... very walkable to the center of Rome and its attractions, with lots of restaurants and shops close by. This property is an ideal choice in that regard for its ideal location. My room was comfortable and faced a bustling street, facing a large church. Proprietors Elisa and Michaela went above and beyond for helping me find and gain access to the location and provide plenty of helpful information, even making a reservation for me. There were downsides. Fortunately there was a (Euro-tiny) elevator; unfortunately, it won't work if other (inconsiderate) tenants in the building don't properly close the fancy-fenestrated outer doors. That once had me trudging up six long staircases in the dark (because, as is the case across Europe, these automatic light switches are not reliable). Second, a nice-to-have would be a small refrigerator, which I had in rooms for use during my other stays in southern Italy. Lastly, the WIFI was very poor. Like the lack of a refrigerator, I thought this was an "Italy thing." It wasn't. Unlike the other properties I stayed in Southern Italy, the signal was weak simply because of an over-reliance of the office WIFI modem to reach the rooms, which is does not. As I always point out in my overnight stay reviews (especially campgrounds), I assess the strength of the WIFI reflecting the high importance of that service, ESPECIALLY as a tourist in another country. Remedying these issues wouldn't be too hard or costly but would my a big deal to tourist guest such as myself.
Response from Property: Dear Julie, thank you so much for the nice review. We are really happy to know that you liked our Guesthouse, your room and our welcome. Above all, we are happy to know that you appreciated our efforts to help you during your stay. I'm sorry you found some negative aspects, on which we will work to improve, but on some points I fear there has been some misunderstanding. Lift: our building is 200 years old and when it was built there were no lifts yet, however we were lucky enough to be able to put one in as there was enough space in the stairs to do so (in the historical center of Rome it's not possible to add elevators outside the buildings, that's why many buildings in this area unfortunately don't have an elevator), however it's also the reason why the elevator is not very big and it can accommodate a maximum of 3 people inside. I confirm that if someone closes the doors badly, the lift doesn't start, but I think that unfortunately this is a common problem all over the world. Staircase lights: actually, for energy saving reasons, the light that illuminates the stairs has a timer. If the light goes out because the times ended, you can just push the power switch (that you can find on each floor) to turn them back on, without having to go up or down in the dark. Small refrigerator: there is a minibar in each room of our Guesthouse, for this reason your comment leaves me surprised, because maybe we don't mean the same thing or you were expecting something different, but our minibars are just identical to those of hotels and allow you to keep fresh drinks and food. WI-FI: I'm very sorry you had problems with the wi-fi. In truth, the modem is not located in our office (where we use a cable connection so as not to cut off the wi-fi signal) but in the hallway. Unfortunately, poor signal quality can happen if there are many guests connected at the same time and, above all, it is due to the very thick walls of our rooms, which slow down signal reception. We have tried many times to solve the problem and we apologize for it, but at present we have not been able to find a satisfactory solution, for this reason we have inserted in each room a LAN port for wired internet connection, which provides a more stable connection , however I promise that we will continue to look for solutions to this problem. Thanks again for the food for thought and I hope I cleared up some misunderstandings. Wishing you all the best, Elisa and Michaela Ferrini

What an absolute gem, brilliant spot near the river and you just walk across the road to be in the heart of Trastevere. The rooms are bright, modern and clean. Really comfy beds, even the put up bed for our 19 year old soon was comfortable! Nespresso coffee machine, bottles of water in the fridge and little snacks. Would absolutely be our hotel of choice next time we visit Rome

This place was perfect!!! I feel very fortunate to have discovered this wonderful hotel hide-a-way in the best part of Rome. The location for our visit to Rome was ideal. We were in the most beautiful neighborhood, which was quite by day an then turned in to a magical place in the evening. Walking distance to the riverside, which was wonderful as we were able to walk the beautifully lit river at night and enjoy the riverside summer festival. Also, the small neighborhood restaurants and bars are plentiful and picturesque. I truly wished we had more time. Further, this hotel is walking distance to the main sites and we did go visit those, but were SOOOOOO happy we did not stay near the crowds. Finally the service was excellent! Kind, friendly, informative, and generous with suggestions and accomodations. I recommend this place and would stay here again in a future visit:)))) Thank you for the warm welcome!

This place was absolutely perfect for us on our honeymoon. Everyone there was so kind and thoughtful from dinner recommendations to a very warm welcome when we arrived! The room itself was spacious, very clean, and quiet even thought it is in Trastevere. There is also ample taxis and transportation right outside your door. Thank you all for making our time in Rome so special - we will be back!

A Trastevere da M.E. is a fantastic little guest house and we would thoroughly recommend this place if you are planning a trip to Rome. We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the end of May/start of June 2023. We stayed in Room Venere, which has a lovely balcony overlooking an ancient wall. The room was spotless and cleaned every day, the bed was comfortable and as we were at the rear it was very quiet. Tea and coffee along with biscuits and melba toast is part of the package and there is fridge for water, beer, yoghurts etc. We were in touch with Michaela and Eliza before our trip and were given great advice on seeing the sights (book the Colosseum/Forum/Palatine Hill and the Vatican in advance, you get to skip the queue and it's cheaper). Trastevere is a maze of old streets, with affordable restaurants and bars, We always ended up at Piazza di Santa Maria which has a lovely fountain in the square and a 5 minutes walk from guesthouse. There are lots of restaurants and bars around the square. Tonnarello restaurant just off the Piazza does pizza and pasta from £9-£13, for great cocktails go to Caffe delle Arance which looks on to the Santa Maria square - 10Euros per cocktail and you get a bruschetta, olives and crisps. If we are back in Rome we would definitely stay here again. Lovely, helpful, friendly owners, spotless room, in walking distance to everywhere. Don't look anywhere else! Thanks Michela & Eliza for making our holiday in Rome brilliant.
