First the positive. The room was comfortable and cool while it was extremely hot in Rome. The location is great. You are walking distance to just about everywhere except the Vatican. Most importantly, staying in the tower was fun. Each floor was one room. WiFi worked well. Comments - there is no breakfast which is not a deal breaker. I think that the most important thing to know is that there is no real support. What I mean is that you can't expect anyone to help you with recommendations (where to eat), getting a taxi (how about just informing where the taxi station is nearby?) or any real service that is typical in a hotel. You need to be prepared to be on your own if you need anything. Even checking in was a little weird as the attendant was going through a stack of papers (more than once) to find our reservation. It was just uncommon process for checking in. We recommend this hotel for the cost, air conditioning and location. Just don't expect anything else.

We stayed 4 nights in this hotel, located in a 13th century defensive tower.. Because it is a tower, there is only 1 room per floor. Steps were cramped, winding and very dark, we did not take them much. The elevator was a tiny box. Reception persons were nice, but not very helpful and most of the time no one was at the desk . We were on the 4th floor. And it was difficult to maneuver into the room because the very small elevator opened entirely onto the tiny landing right in front of your door, so you had maneuver out as far as you could to get out of the elevator, and close the elevator door to then access the room. The staircase was so dark it was hard to find the keyhole in the door. There was a small bedroom, small bathroom and side room, that had a couch facing a dresser and a table facing a wall—it wasn’t very practical to use except for hanging our clothes and storing suitcases. The floor was stone and it had a nice high, beamed ceiling. The bathroom was modern and nice. The towel warmer did not work. We told the front desk person about this the first day, but it was not fixed and there was no follow up. It would have been helpful to have this, as we were caught in a rain/hailstorm during our stay and had s lot of wet clothes to dry. Our room was made up nicely everyday, but the floor seemed dirty and not well cleaned. The bed was large and comfortable. GREAT pillows and top quality sheets. The temperature was in the 60’s in March and cool, but our toom was hot and stuffy so we we slept with the windows cracked. We were on a Main Street so traffic was loud until about 11 pm. The rooftop terrace is accessed only by a scary climb up a spiral staircase with glass steps at the very end. The view was nice, but it was not practical to spend any there time there. We didn’t go back. As noted in other reviews there is NO breakfast as advertised and our room and bathroom were not spacious and did not look similar to the photos provided. It was a good location with easy access to Forum, Trevi fountain Spanish Steps and many nice restaurants (that we found ourselves). In short, we were in 2 other large cities in Europe and this was the least desirable stay. We would not stay here again.

This is not a full-service hotel. The front desk was unstaffed much of the day (and all night). When staff was present, they were not knowledgeable about such things as nearby restaurants or laundry service or the nearest post office. We raised several maintenance issues with staff, but nothing was ever done to address the issues. We had three rooms - a bedroom, a bathroom and another room that was not very useful except as a place to store our luggage. The bathroom had been upgraded at some point in the past 10 years. It was small, but ok. All our rooms (including the bathroom) had a stone floor. We found it very hard, rough and uncomfortable. It did not appear to have been cleaned recently. The bedroom was too small to allow one to easily navigate. The bed was good. Our room was well serviced every day. The lighting was not great. We had several windows which could be opened, but there was a lot of street noise during daylight hours. The hotel was within walking distance (20 minutes) of the Forum. 25 minutes to the Colosseum. 10 minute walk to good restaurants.

This truly unique hotel situated in a converted medieval tower is a great value! The location is excellent for visiting many of the sites, including the Roman Forum, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, the Jewish Ghetto. There is a lot of traffic noise outside the hotel, but with the inside shutters closed, we found the rooms to be quiet and comfortable with air conditioning and WiFi that worked well. The rooftop terrace is not really promoted (we had to ask about it) and has the most glorious views, although the clear staircase is a little scary! Breakfast is no longer served and staff is absent through much of the day, although helpful when around. It seems that possibly the hotel is still recovering from Covid times, and could offer so much more with its location, history and beautiful terrace! Overall we were glad we chose this hotel!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here- the hotel is very well located in the historic section of Rome, within walking distance of all the big sites. We were on the 5th floor and it was very quiet at night. Our room was very clean. *There is no breakfast* The wifi was terrible- it hardly worked at all, even in the lobby. I would not say this is a 'boutique' hotel, as the amenities were a little lacking. We did not have our own temperature control and the room was stuffy- You can open the window but there is no screen and it would be loud at night with open windows. Also there is no breakfast, but I would think with only five rooms and loads of nearby cafes it would be easy to arrange something with a local business to provide breakfast to guests. The rooftop was not exciting at all, just some tables and you had to walk through what looked like someone's apartment to get there, so it was awkward and we didn't use it, although the views are amazing. It's an untapped resource here, I think. For the price, location, and cleanliness though, it was a good hotel.

Had four nights here. So central. Fantastic location. The hotel itself was so cool. A small medieval tower six stores high with one room on each floor. Room was large and well equipped but so cool with massive old beams and brick floors. Only challenge was that the wifi was playing up. Otherwise couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough.
