We had an excellent cosy stay here. Staff replied to my emails and queries ahead of my visit so it was stress free. We loved the look and feel of the venue, it certainly fitted in with the surroundings and keeping to tradition but with modern amenities. Personally, I don't feel that some of the less positive reviews reflected our experience of the place. I feel like the space and size of the room is in keeping with the buildings around the place. Authenticity is clearly important. I've seen some reviews comment on lack of space / windows in the basic / standard room (we were behind reception). We had two large suitcases and cabin baggage but plenty of space when stored vertically. There's facilities to hang your stuff up too. There are windows that just peak over ground level, they gave maximum privacy and let fresh air in. Even if you did have windows, the view would be onto the opposite buildings/car park so not really required in my experience. This means that the room is a little dark but adds the atmosphere and feel of the place; the electrical lighting is sufficient and the room is well lit anyway. Bathroom and shower were lovely. Room and bedding was cleaned to a nice standard and towels were fresh. Staff were welcoming and more than helpful in facilitating a late check in and early check out. Spa was excellent and included in the price; bear this in mind when booking or comparing with other venues. Though sometimes sharing, where else can you spa in the centre of Rome?! Perfect after a day of sightseeing for a recharge. I'd recommend booking in your slots at the beginning of your stay. This would have been my fourth time in Rome and the location was unmatched, price for the room was fair and our stay exceeded our expectations. I would definitely stay here again. Don't stay here if you DON'T want a room with charm and character in keeping with the local neighbourhood!
