Sonder at Colosseum Cloisters

Booked the apar**ent via ABNB 9 months prior to the trip to Rome. Sonder cancelled reservation 31 days prior to the stay. ABNB said the host does this often and they are being investigated for multiple cancellations. DO NOT book a reservation with Sonder as you may be left with no where to stay when they double book the house on the multiple sites they operate on.

We just returned from Rome and stayed at the Sonder Cloister/Coliseum, and had a terrible experience there. The apar**ent was poorly maintained, looked nothing like the photos, had no smoke detectors in the bedrooms, and was very difficult to gain access to. The real icing on the cake was the apar**ent door could be opened from the outside without a key or code! Other specifics: Clothes dryer didn’t work, paint in VERY bad shape, bathroom tile was painted over and paint was badly peeling, lamp broken, master bed didn’t have a door (just a curtain), and we spent about 20 minutes getting into our unit since the access codes didn’t work. When locked out later, I realized you could just turn the handle and the door opened without a code. Sketchy! We weren't comfortable staying there, and checked out the next day. We fully expected an apology and a refund from Sonder for the unused portion of our stay, but no such luck. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere.

Great location and neighbourhood. Very convenient for sightseeing, public transportaion, really nice restaurants closeby. Appar**ent is wonderful, on first floor. Love the bar Mose next door for early morning coffee and cornetto.

Stayed at the Colosseum apar**ent and it was literally 50m to sight this amazing piece of history. Local bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Metro maybe 200m so easy to access. Some minor issues but Sonder happy to help. If it's all about location location you can't beat this really. Getting in the apar**ent was testing for this technofobe but once you work it out it's easy. Great apar**ent door. Comfy beds. Nice and warm.

Great location and great place. Went here on a family trip and it was easy to see the sites and get around from here. Close to the train station and close to the Colosseum metro stop. Restaurants are nearby but they do require up and down some stairs and hills but it wasn’t too bad at all. I’d definitely stay there again if I could.

We stayed here 2 families (10 ppl)-just in front of the colosseum. The apar**ent was clean and very spacious, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and extra public place. The Sonder staff was extra friendly on WhatsApp, and also helped us with airport transportation. The only problems are mattresses (must be replaced) and one of the shower heads that was broken, but not a big deal. Highly recommended
