I have stayed in the best hotel in this price range in several cities in Italy, right near the Vatican. Although it is a bit far away from the famous attractions in Rome by taxi (in fact, the taxi distance in China is very close), but it is within walking distance from the hotel. The design of the street and the hotel are great. The rooms are large, the TV is large, and the windows can be fully opened for ventilation. The breakfast is also very rich. The structure is beautiful ... Too bad about the rest ... Air conditioning non-existent, windows on the ground floor where the room is located, given me not manageable, so if you wake up in the middle of the night you can go outside to get some air ... Maybe in pajamas... Leaving aside the question that, even if you paid for the room, they ask you for a credit card for a pre-authorization of € 50.00, it's not clear why... Except then they tell you at Check out (you have to go to the reception to leave the keys or no???) after a long reasoned and legitimate complaint to which they cannot reasonably counter that it is not mandatory (obviously an option communicated only at check out). Never again.... Too bad though!

While we enjoyed our stay at Mama Roma, no access to the pool and the dirtiness of the reception area were a big disappoin**ent. Our bill should have been reduced since the pool and spa were closed. But there were many great things about this hotel: - good gym - clean, comfortable room - great location for subway access and site seeing without being touristy - fantastic breakfast: healthy, abundant, and great variety of foods and drinks - helpful staff. - young, fun vibe. We were traveling with our son so we thought the young vibe, games, and fun decor would appeal to him (and us). It did.

Mama Shelter Roma was a great place to stay - right next to Cipro Metro which is easy to access the rest of the city and only a 10 minute walk from the Vatican Museum. The Hotel was clean and friendly. Pizza was fab, the menu of the Garden restaurant was a little lacking and a little disappointing. A little frustrated to find out you had to book a timing for the swimming pool and that all of the top deck was locked up for winter. Otherwise a great stay in a very affordable set up

Nice hotel and good welcome The breakfast is excellent, very varied and good quality products. Room for 3 but the 2nd bed was a convertible sofa which was not ideal for sleeping. The location of the hotel is next to the Vatican and 5 minutes from the metro but quite far from the center And the area is not at all touristy, there is nothing to do around I chose this hotel for its roof top and its swimming pool , the roof top is very nice but the swimming pool is poor so it's not possible to enjoy it, a shame knowing that that was what made me choose this hotel. Hotel restaurant practical and good but a little expensive.
