Hotel Monte Cenci

We loved this funky, boutique hotel. Fantastic, accessible location in the heart of Rome's Jewish Ghetto. Very helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable room. My only complaint is that it is expensive for what you get. Limited breakfast with no fresh juices. Otherwise great. I would stay again.

Fantastic service throughout the 3 nights that we stayed with our family. Breakfast was good Beds were comfortable The only downside was the air conditioning. Luckly it wasn’t too hot or too cold so we didn't say anything in the end. Thank you!

Great hotel within easy walking distance of the pantheon

We stayed at Monte Cenci in 2nd week of April as part of an Italy Express tour. Our room was very spacious with a patio and a modern bathroom. MIchael and his staff were very professional and friendly. When our tour agency failed to help us with taxis to covered excursions, Michael helped us out with quality taxis and helpful advice, especially with restaurants in the immediate area. Breakfast was excellent and served early to help us with tour days. If you are looking for a quality 4-star hotel in Rome, consider the Monte Cenci:)

My husband & I just returned from a fabulous 10-day vacation in Rome. On our first day in Rome, we received a lovely welcome from Michele at check-in at Monte Cenci Hotel. He offered us complimentary coffee and croissants in the breakfast room where Daniele served us cappuccino with his signature heart. Then Michele had us whisked away to our beautiful room in no time! Our great first impression of this hotel was not to be our last. We were treated with impeccable kindness and fantastic service throughout our stay. The complimentary breakfasts were beautifully prepared and presented each day by Ahmed - expect both hot and cold offerings such as scrambled eggs and frittata, fresh pastries, and a lovely assor**ent of freshly diced fruit. Daniele quickly became a favorite, as he was there each morning greet us with a smile and serve any choice of hot coffee beverage. Our hotel room was on the 4th floor and was one of the more spacious rooms in the hotel. It was fabulous! The mattress and linens were luxurious, the air-conditioning kept us at a comfortable temperature, and the room was stocked with luxury Turkish cotton towels each day. Wi-fi service was 100% reliable. Maid service was done promptly each day before our afternoon return to the hotel, and if we needed anything extra we received prompt room service from Tito. Lastly, this hotel has a super location. Monte Cenci Hotel is only a 15-minute walk from some of the most famous sites in Rome (Captiolene Museums, the Roman Forum, the Coliseum, the Pantheon, and many others) and a 10-minute walk from the best restaurants in Trastevere. There are also many great restaurants just steps away from the hotel. There are fabulous walks to be had close by along the Tiber River and on Tiber Island. Also, we were able to walk comfortably to Castel Sant'Angelo and other sites within 20-30 minutes. We couldn't have had a better home-away-from-home in Rome for 10 days than Monte Cenci Hotel! Highly recommend!

First the positives! The staff were absolutely lovely and couldn't be more helpful! Rooms were a comfortable temperature and they were spotless. Location was good, most sights were a 15 or 20 minute walk away. We had a couple of drinks at the bar each night and there was lovely armchairs there to sit and enjoy drinks. A few issues, some of the rooms are quite small. We were there with another couple and their room was much larger than ours. There's no restaurant in the hotel so the only food available is the breakfast. Breakfast was on the rooftop, which sounds lovely but the rooftop is not great. We were cold, the walls were dirty and the floor was unstable. There were workmen working there one morning and it was not ideal. Food was an average continental breakfast, I've had better and I've had worse! The bar is extremely quiet - that suited us just fine but some people may want somewhere more lively for their drinks!

Hotel Monte Cenci is located in the old Jewish neighborhood. Beautiful hotel and guest services was very good. Front desk service gave us great restaurant recommendations and car service. The hotel is close the Tiber river and many historical attractions.
