Hotels Near Grand Plaza Park in Roquetas de Mar

This was our first holiday with our 4 year old son. We looked at the reviews and noticed a few people mentioning that it was mostly Spanish holiday makers, that the staff seemed to focus on them and the English were left out. Well yes that statement is true it is, but it’s Spain what do you expect, we actually found the staff very friendly and spoke very good English, they included our son in most things, and where it was an activity that was complicated it didn’t seem to bother him that he couldn’t understand a word they said, as a matter of fact it was quite amusing watching three children of different nationality playing and talking to each other even though they didn’t have a scooby what the other was saying. The hotel itself was smart, and very clean, all staff went the extra mile to help. The food was delicious with a great variety for all tastes, even our son on his beige diet ate quite well. There were meat and fish options along with veg and salad, rice and pasta, and a selection of desserts including little tubs of ice cream. The pool area was really good and perfect for what we wanted, with different areas for different age groups, and conveniently if you have mixed ages it’s easy to position yourself to see both. The beach is nice but the water gets very deep very quickly, but little ones can still enjoy the water without getting out of their depth. It’s not really sand it’s more very tiny gravel, so depending on how you cope in bare feet, take something with you. Finally to the hotel manager, thank you for making our holiday such a special occasion, and thanks to the bar staff for putting up with my attempt at Spanish, they were very nice and friendly. Well deserved 5stars

Great location in the beach. Lots of nice restaurants and bars near by. Pleasant staff. Rooms needed to do what the did (a bed for the night) breakfast average. Was not there long enough to use the pool or the facilities. Would stay again as it’s a great base to travel to nearby areas. Almeria was about 20 mins in the car.

A very ordinary apartment hotel. I was already there more often. This time the bedroom was quite narrow and I had no sea view. The hotel was very surprised full. The hotel has a good tapas bar with cheap offers. There are other bars and restaurants in the surrounding area with Spanish guests. Beach about 500m. There are only a few free parking spaces. We stayed for 3 nights and played golf twice. The hotel looks quite grand when you arrive,and we had no trouble parking, although it’s low season. In high season I expect you would have difficulty finding a parking space outside, in which case you would have to pay to park in the hotel underground facility. Our room had a lovely view with a small balcony over the swimming pool. It was fully functional and clean, but pretty tired. The air conditioning seemed to have been set to winter mode, so the room was 25C. Maybe okay for Spanish guests, but far too hot for us. The chamber maids, maintenance man, then hotel Director all tried to rectify the problem, which was subsequently rectified the following day. We were offered a move to an apartment, but didn’t fancy that. The beds in the room were also too hard for us, and the maids put on toppers the second night which made them a bit softer. Breakfast was pleasant, standard fare. We didn’t have dinner, but ate in the bar, which again was fine. We sat out on the terrace one lunchtime in the sunshine, and I suspect the pool area is lovely in high season. One lunchtime, the hotel recommended a restaurant in Aguadulce, restaurant Mistela Gastronomia, which was excellent. Very easy and cheap to get a taxi there and back. We played golf twice. Both days were at the weekend, but the course was very quiet, and we were not paired with anyone else. Very unusual even in low season. The area, and course is very hilly, so I would recommend a buggy (unless you’re super fit). It’s a woodland course, which I found quite interesting and challenging. Any water features are dry at the moment. ‘Rustic’ is the description I would use to describe the course. The pro shop were very friendly and surprisingly well stocked with a variety of clubs. It’s difficult to see how the hotel has achieved 5 star status, but the place grew on us, as all of the staff were so friendly. Despite having to complain, everyone we came into contact with tried their best to help, and seemed to want us to have a nice time. Not sure we would return, but we had a pleasant couple of days.

I cannot understand the bad reviews. We had an excellent experience here. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The location is very good at the city centre and close to the attractions. We had chosen a spa package, which is highly recommendable and included chocolates and prosecco. The spa experience was amazing, which we have also reviewed separately in more detail. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. When we arrived early at 12, they let ut stay on the rooftop pool all day until our room was ready. Great customer service! And when I forgot my Spanish abanico at the hotel, they found it for me, and kept it for a week until I returned to pick it up. A special thank you for your help and honesty! Breakfast was good and the views were stunning from the rooftop to the Alcazaba. Very luxurious. They even opened the breakfast serving 15 minutes earlier than usual, so we had the chance to enjoy the breakfast and still catch our early morning bus. Just a perfect stay here. No puedo entender las malas críticas. Tuvimos una excelente experiencia aquí. La habitación estaba limpia y muy bien decorada. La ubicación es muy buena en el centro de la ciudad y cerca de las atracciones. Habíamos elegido un paquete de spa, que es muy recomendable e incluía chocolates y prosecco. La experiencia de hammam fue increíble, que también hemos analizado por separado con más detalle. El personal fue extremadamente amable y servicial. Cuando llegamos temprano a las 12, nos dejaron quedarnos en la piscina todo el día hasta que nuestra habitación estuvo lista. ¡Excelente servicio al cliente! El personal fue extremadamente amable y servicial. Cuando olvidé mi abanico en el hotel, me lo buscaron y lo guardaron durante una semana hasta que volví a recogerlo. ¡Muchas gracias por su ayuda y honestidad! El desayuno era bueno con las vistas impresionantes de la Alcazaba. Muy lujo. Incluso abrieron el servicio de desayuno 15 minutos antes de lo habitual temprano por la mañana, y gracias a eso tuvimos la oportunidad de disfrutar del desayuno antes que nuestro autobús sale. Simplemente una estancia perfecta aquí.

really lovely hotel, walking distance to everything in the historical part of Almeria. We had the family suite which was great for the 4 of us with lots of space and privacy. Helpful and friendly staff, can't fault any part of it. Would definitely recommend using the hotel parking. Will definitely do our best to return!

Being located at the prime location, this hotel offers easy access to shopping, downtown, and nearby monuments nearby. Enjoyed my 1 week stay at AC Hotel Almeria, Rooms are bit smaller yet, no compromise on comfort level. I enjoyed had a walk around the corner every evening, because everything is just few mins walking distance. I personally loved the town Almeria exploring maximum by walk and reaching locals, this hotel took care of my stay comfortable. There are some rooms were have to reach over stairs, which I had struggled during check-in & check-out carrying a heavy baggage. Perhaps, the hotel staff can consider allot rooms based on customers carrying a heavy luggage, it’s bit challenging to carry them over stairs (only specific rooms on each floor). Rest everything else worth a 4* rating!

The breakfast is relatively simple. The hotel does not provide airport pick-up service, and it costs about 17 euros by taxi in fifteen minutes. It's very close to the large shopping center. The hotel helps to call a taxi. It's affordable and quite suitable for business trips.

Friendly and efficient check in. Nice modern hotel, rooms clean and spacious. Good location next to shopping centre and good restaurants and tapas bars within a few minutes walk, hotel bar very quiet , over all a nice experience with no complaints, staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a buffet with the usual selection of ham, salamis and cheese with bread and nice cakes. The hot cooked selection was adequate. A good hotel frequented by many business people.

After spending 3 days in the local Government hospital my wife & I stayed here for 2 weeks before we were repatriated back to the UK. Excellent hotel in a lovely area with amazing staff who were very attentive professional & extremely helpful - the manager was very supportive. The hotel is situated just outside the city centre but only a short walk away. Very near the hospital & a large shopping mall. The food was very good especially the breakfasts with a variety of choices on offer. Very near to a host of good restaurants/tapas bars which serve excellent & great value for money food. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a city break at a most reasonable price.
