Montague Guest House

We recently stayed at the Montague Guest House on our trip around Scotland - we spent a quick few days here, and were greeted with such hospitality from Raj. From booking to checking in and out, the entire experience was so effortless. Our room was exactly what we needed, and our breakfasts were delicious each morning. The location also can't be beat - so central to everything in town - and Raj had given us great recommendations and advice for our stay. When we plan our next trip back to Scotland, we'll definitely be staying here again. Thanks again Raj!

Montague Guest House is the perfect accomodation for your stay in St. Andrews. Raj is a fantastic host that will help you get the most from your visit. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The location cannot be beat. A very short walk to the links and centrally located in St. Andrews. I would highly recommend Montague for business or vacation with family and friends. I will be returning.

Fantastic position, Raj was responsive, provided clear instructions, friendly and knowledgeable, breakfast was delicious, rooms were roomy and well appointed. We walked to golf and dinner each night. Beautiful old building right in the heart of town

Very clean room and tastefully decorated. The ensuite was very clean and well stocked. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. Would definitely come again. Staff were very friendly and it was a great place to enjoy our reunion.

Mr raj is very welcoming each year and we have enjoyed staying at his guest house for the last 5 years . I would recommend staying at the Montague it is clean convenient for amenities and staff are always helpfull. Looking forward to staying again next year to play golf.

Raj is a great host, the guest house is perfectly situated in the town for the town center and the golf courses. Rooms are neat and clean, and the breakfast is very nice. We had a great time and look forward to going back. The only draw back is the lack of parking, but that's just St Andrews.

We have been returning to Montague house for a least 4 years running as a group of 8 to 12 golfers. Raj the host has been exceptional. The rooms are also exceptional for a B&B (best ones I've stopped in). Montague house is located in easy walking distance to the St Andrews links complex and local bars and restaurants. We will be returning again next years with out doubt. Steve

This was the fourth year in a row I’ve stayed at Montague House on golfing trips - the first time on my own and for the past three with a group of friends. On every occasion the owner, Raj, has been fantastic to deal with, both before and during our stay. It’s only a 10-minute walk carrying your clubs to the first tee of The Old Course, so it is perfectly positioned. The guest house has been given a Scottish feel and is warm and welcoming; the rooms are neat and clean with decent showers. (The twin/double room sizes vary quite a bit . . . my tip is to see if Room 3 is available if you’re sharing - even a snorer will be far enough away not to bother you too much.) In the summer months, when the seagulls are particularly active early in the morning, Raj offers earplugs for anyone who might find this noise - common throughout the town - a problem. Breakfast time is fun, with tables of golfers shaking off their night before, and there are plenty of options to choose from, as well as the usual “Full Scottish”. Parking is free, but competitive, on the street outside and nearby . . . with patience, a space has always appeared for us. I’ve no doubt we’ll be back again next year, enjoying our stay and a few rounds on the hallowed ground of St Andrews.

Third visit in three years and cannot speak highly enough of this guest house and the hospitality shown by the owner, Raj. Comfortable, clean rooms and a great breakfast in a prime location that means everything is within walking distance especially the golf links. Free parking is available outside the guest house and in the car park 100 yards away. We are a group of 8 golfers without a single complaint in three years and will be booking again for next year. Highly recommended.
