You're going to read this and say to yourself, "She must be exaggerating," but I truly can't express to you how much I am NOT. Within twenty minutes of booking our reservation, we received a call from Jess, who called to confirm our reservation and to talk through the hotel's amenities, policies, and parking. From this first interaction, we have NEVER felt more welcome and more appreciated at any hotel. The building has been fully renovated to an incredible extent while remaining true to its 19th century roots - there are photo albums on the table in the dining room detailing in the process and it's beautiful to see. For those of you wondering "Can a renovated hotel have enough outlets for me? Can the air conditioning possibly work?" I assure you, BOTH are true. I have never woken up cold in Florida and frankly, I was delighted to have the opportunity. The rooms are so comfortable and so well-appointed, we almost didn't want to leave, but that would be a shame considering the inn's absolutely perfect location on Cordova Street! Just about every historic site you can think of in the city is within a fifteen minute walking distance, and if you need any help finding it or looking for a recommendation, the entire staff is widely knowledgeable and ready to help you figure out a plan. Marcia, the Innkeeper, gave us a full walking tour of the building upon arrival to make sure we were familiar with all the amenities and answer any questions we had, and it felt like walking around with an old friend right away. She pointed out the drink fridge (available and fully-stocked twenty four seven with complementary sodas, water, and wine,) the baked goods (I was literally traveling with my mom and if it's on her baking level??? significant,) the aromatherapy towels (which she hand-makes and may just save your life after a hot day walking the city,) and the in-room sherry for a nightcap. Even the bathrooms in this hotel are beautiful, which if you've ever stayed in a historic building, you may have some reservations about. The sheer number and quality of linens in the room is truly incredible, and so so clean. And the breakfast part of this B&B? Y'all, I want these people to cater my wedding. We had a peach cobbler bake the second morning that was basically the fruity french toast of my dreams, and if we didn't want what was on the menu, we could request something else and it would be just as spectacular as the chef's choice. Listen to Marcia when she tells you about the local coffee - no exaggeration, it's head and shoulders above Starbucks. Within an hour of arriving, I messaged several of my loved ones saying we had to book here and stay again, and I'm so excited to do so. I can't recommend this hotel, its service, its accommodations, its food, its everything enough. Yes, there are about a thousand private B&Bs in St. Augustine, and yes, you may have rewards at any of the many beautiful chain hotels also in the area, but only this one can truly make you feel

100 star review! Excellent in every way. THE BEST HOSTS EVER! Book your room now. I felt welcome as soon as I opened the door. They took hospitality to another level with their person touches. The friendliest staff, delicious food, yummy treats, the softest sheets, beautiful rooms and the best location. I work in the hospitality industry and I am so thankful I chose to stay here. I’ll definitely be back.

We had stayed at this B&B several times. Since our last visit, the property was bought and sold and they offered what looked like a lovely private carriage room located next to the Inn. On first inspection, it looked fine, though not completely finished and ready for guests. The furniture was not great but it was fine given a private balcony and courtyard area. As we settled in, we noticed a problem with the ac. It would not turn off and we began to freeze. We called the main house. They looked at it and determined at that time that it was a frozen HVAC claimed it was fixed. Upon more inspection, we noticed that the ac grates were filthy and the problem still existed. (See photos). We actually had to use the gas fireplace and it was still freezing, so we called again about midnight and they said there was nothing that could be done until morning. We didn’t sleep, so before dawn we repacked and headed home. Our trip ruined and feeling awful. They called us in the morning and claimed that help was on the way, not knowing we had left. Upon hearing our plight, they promised a full refund. As of today, they still owe us over $180 of the almost $800 bill, claiming that since we used a credit from a previous stay, it was not eligible for refund. We will never be going there again. Sad, as it used to be a great establishment.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, decent amount of space in the rooms and common areas. Lots of little amenities: soda, water, wine and brandy, cookies, coffee, tea, etc. Bathroom clean and functional with a spa tub. The Innkeeper was marvelous (Marcia) and couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommend Centennial and will be back next visit to St. Augustine. Great town - lots to do. First time there in 50 years and had a great time!

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful stay at Centennial House. The staff went out of their way to make my birthday getaway extra special, from the complimentary sparkling wine in our room, to the reserved “best seat in the house” breakfast table with birthday banner. The breakfasts they prepare in house are so delicious, you will not be disappointed. We especially loved the many varieties of fresh baked cookies every day. My husband also was happy to have a lovely red wine in the living area, and cream sherry in our bedroom. The location is convenient to the historic area - shopping and restaurants. The price was very reasonable for all that was offered. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t say enough about the welcoming staff.

Summary - Excellent location, above average breakfast and the most amazing staff. Highly recommend for a St. Augustine stay. Details - Upon arrival the fantastic hospitality began. We were early and the innkeeper gave us a close, fantastic recommendation for lunch while she finished preparing our room. We stayed in the Carriage View room on the second floor. The bed was huge and dominated the room but it was very comfortable and the linens were above hotel grade. Due to the design there was not a lot of storage place, but this is to be expected in a reused building. Everything in the room worked and was well maintained. The sherry in the room was nice, pleasant and not overly strong. The location of our building was less than 5 minutes via walking to the main historic area of the city. Once we parked our car we never used it again. We were glad to not be in the downtown area so that it was quieter at night. Amenities at the bed and breakfast were over the top in the most positive way. Every day the breakfast was made to order and delicious. Baked cookies and other treats were left out for guests as well. Bottled water was free for guests and chilled. This was a huge bonus for us. Free wine was available as well for guests; my wife said it was very good and above bar well grade. On every floor was a small box with items that might be needed (feminine products, toothbrush and paste, medicines, razors, shaving cream, etc.) for guests for free. After a full day of walking around, they also had chilled cloths (with a drop of mint) to wipe the face and cool off with. Before bed, they had lavender sachets to put under the pillow. I'm sure I'm forgetting some other things, but it's very obvious the owners and innkeeper truly want to make your stay perfect and memorable. In summation, we will be staying at Centennial again on our next trip. The staff helped make our stay an amazing way to spend an anniversary and helped us see so many great sites and awesome eats.
