Hotel Walhalla

Hotel is right across the street from the St Gallen train station, and about 15 mins walk from the St Gallen Abbey /Library. Room size is considered reasonably large compared to other Swiss hotels of the same rating, and is quite modern and neat. Take note however that many amenities like toothbrush /paste, mineral waters and slippers are not provided. Breakfast is of limited variety, just bread, salads, coffee /tea. There is a authentic Thai food restaurant, in a street alley just behind the restaurant, which is very good and of reasonable price. Front desk staff can speak English, but not Mandarin.
Radisson Blu Hotel, St. Gallen

Pros: 1. Good location away from the busy area of the town yet in close walking distance to the main market place, museums, restaurants and other attractions. 2. Decent breakfast offerings. Good attentive hosts who do their best to ensure your day is off to a good start. 3. Complimentary pass to access a local gym nearby. The hotel’s own fitness center is really next to nothing and consists of a couple of pieces of basic equipment. Cons: 1. As many reviewers have previously mentioned, the air conditioning system is pathetic to say the least. The window wouldn’t open fully. Be prepared to sweat a lot if the weather outside is warm. For this reason alone, I wouldn’t return here as a guest at least in the summer. 2. Experienced something extremely worrisome around 1:30pm Saturday afternoon on the day before my departure. Was working in my room with the privacy requested sign posted outside my door. Heard a quick soft knock immediately followed by the door lock being unlocked. The door then was pushed open till it was stopped by the security latch that was engaged at the time. I ran to the door and saw nobody through the peephole. Opened the door and went out to the hallway. Whoever tried to enter the door was long gone. Called the front desk about it who nonchalantly offered to make me a new key if wanted. I guess unwanted illegal entry to guess rooms isn’t something surprising or alarming to the staff. I felt that I couldn’t trust any of the employees there. Provided my feedback via the customer survey requested by Radisson after my stay.
Tailormade Hotel LEO St.Gallen

New modern hotel with unique architectural style. You feel well everywhere: in the lobby, in the Japanese stylish restaurant, in the great room in the upper floor with views over the whole city, in the wellness area and not least on the unique terrace. Thank you very much to the careful and friendly staff.
Sorell Hotel City Weissenstein

the hotel is very close to the city center (i would say less than 3 min walking), the rooms are spacious and well decorated, beds are very comfy, breakfast (for us was included in the price) was pretty good, choice and quality wise. the best is the personnel in reception, restaurant and housekeeping, they were very professional and attentive and responsive. it was a pleasure to stay for 4 days in this hotel and for sure we will return and again, thank you to all the staff.
Oberwaid - Das Hotel.

This is a lovely place that feels away from everything. It has spacious air-conditioned rooms with plenty of closet spaces and plenty of hangers (what a treat!) besides having a good nice size bathroom with a great shower. The beds are firm and with many elevators. The rooms also have balconies facing green fields with nice paths, swimming pool and lounging areas. Very peaceful. The breakfast is good and the staff courteous. What else can you ask for? There are buses a little way outside the hotel, so if one does not have own transportation this could be a drawback though. Recommended.
Einstein St. Gallen

The style of the hotel is modern, the appearance is unremarkable, the hotel is very clean, the bathroom is very good, the decoration of the room is very general, even a bit ugly, especially the curtains. But the important thing is to have air-conditioning. For those traveling to Switzerland at the end of June, air-conditioning is so important. Most hotels in Switzerland do not have air-conditioning. (35 degrees lasts until nine o'clock in the evening, indoors are usually hotter than outdoors.) The breakfast is quite satisfactory and acceptable. But there is no sense of being served by the waiter at all.
