Americas Best Value Inn St Joseph

This place just painted the outside. It's like putting lipstick on a pig, as my husband says so eloquently. There is a sign on the window of lobby that says " grab and go breakfast. No one was there to open the security window and throw it out to us. No entry to lobby at all. About 15 cameras that you can see for on the enclosed area where the window is. Wonder what they are afraid of? The room is a joke. The bed sinks on the right side as you are on it. Feels like you are going to roll off. I had to sleep diagonally. Patches in bathroom are very poorly done. Stains on upholstered chair. The "bedspread" is a sheet. Compare their pics to mine! NEVER AGAIN!!

We reserved on ***********, then arrived and were horrified by the condition of this property. Trash and broken down vehicles in the lot, filthy lobby and grounds. A couple waiting to check in was trying to speak with someone at the closed up lobby through a piece of duct-taped cardboard. Apparently, the local homeless shelter recently closed and this place is now being used as a homeless shelter. We never checked in, immediately cancelled our reservation. However, the hotel charged our card anyway & continue to refuse to issue a refund. What a nightmare!
