This is a beautiful property. My only complaint was a corporate event was being held during our stay and my family and I were prevented the use of the main pools and bar. We were also paying guests and would like to have use of the pool instead of being crammed with 200 other guests into a smaller area and having to walk flights of stairs for bar service.

HORRIBLE. Do.Not.Stay.Here. Customer service was NONEXISTANT. I never write reviews, and here we go. Our room wasn't ready until 8pm on check in day, only to THEN be told that there were no more King Bedrooms available. Only two doubles, for my husband and I. Never an apology, never even a smile from the front desk staff. When we asked for a manager, she was argumentative, not apologetic, and when WE HAD TO ASK for a resort credit, drink coupon, ANYTHING for the inconvenience, she said no. They are allowed to put 2 people in a double bed room with no issue. The rooms are HOT. Our friends had a room with the AC never getting below 78 degrees for 4 nights. Absolutely horrendous. The bar staff could not be more rude. Never a smile again, it became a joke that no one at the resort smiled at a guest at all. They told us we were in the way several times, the bar took 30 minutes to get a drink, and we were told to sit down to be served, then told no one comes around to serve those sitting down. No one comes around to serve drinks or food at the pools either. I would NEVER recommend this hotel, and would certainly never stay here myself. Everyone in our group said the same, and continuously had complaints as well. A beautiful area of the world, and such a shame they don't train their staff better, and reopened WAY too quickly after renovations, when AC doesn't even work for many rooms. It's too warm a place, to be dealing with that as a guest. Oh and security who came to fix our safe stormed in without even acknowledging our presence, fixed it and walked out. Didn't even look at us. It's just one thing after another.

We just returned from staying at both the Westin in STT (2 nights at end of trip) and the Westin villas in STJ. After a very poor experience at the Westin STJ, we found the newly renovated Westin at Frenchman’s Reef a welcome improvement. The property is stunning with myriad places to drink and dine all with views of the water. We had an excellent dinner overlooking the pool at Luna Mar and a good lunch down at the Buoy Haus’s Sandbar. We were unable to have dinner at Isla Blue due to a corporate event but enjoyed cocktails the next day. We found the staff and servers throughout both properties very good. Our room was clean and well appointed with a view back towards Charlotte Amalie. My husband and daughter were able to book a jet ski excursion right at the property as well.

I had read negative reviews but decided to book the trip and give it a try. Two days prior to our arrival I called the hotel to request early check-in and confirm the reservation. Upon hotel check-in, we could sense the lobby was warm but the hotel staff stated there were no concerns. We arrived at our rooms and although booked a garden view, we were given a room overlooking dirty pipes near the entrance of the property. I immediately noticed the room felt warm but since we were able to hear the fan within the a/c unit I wasn't too alarmed. Later that evening, we were told by other patrons of systemic a/c issues. When I inquired with hotel staff, they indicated that the hotel was fully booked and we would be offered a small fan. I requested assistance to transfer to another hotel which they stated would not be in there ability. However, they stated they would call me to follow up and would send fans to our room. Since our window could not open and as the large pipes were directly outside, there was zero ventilation. The fans never came and upon my follow up, were told they ran out. Again, I asked for a room change and was told we may get a room that is warmer and a/c could not be guaranteed. We had no a/c for 6 days. Related to the food and beverage experiences; on daily basis we attempted to order items on the menu at restaurants and were constantly informed were not available and told items were not available due to "being too hot to make pizza" and " not enough power to make specific dishes." We frequently heard the staff saying, " we are understaffed" as rationale for confusion with services and bill mix-ups with other guests. To illustrate during on visit to the ***** Mar restaurant, the server reported inability to provide a baked potato and then served a salad with several insects coming from the bottom. We asked the server for another salad, and she said that the insects must have flown into the salad ( they did not have wings) and did not provide another salad. During the same dining experience, we observed the server proceed to come from the kitchen with filet mignon ( that we paid $48.00 for) and feed it to the stray cats near our table. This is a violation of any health codes and is very unprofessional. I contacted the Luna Mar supervisor and left a message and never got a call back. Lack of available food choices forced us to leave the resort by taxi to have lunches and dinner. The breakfast at the hotel was great and service awesome as well. However, upon check out we received the hotel bill for food and beverages with an absurd total of close to $3,000.00. Given we left the property to eat frequently this was confusing. The hotel clerk gave us a hard time when we asked for a printed copy of the bill, leaving us to wait for over 15 minutes. Finally, after pleading as our taxi was waiting and needed to go to the airport, the bill was given. We immediately noticed not only being charged for food, drinks an

Do not recommend this property for vacation on St. Thomas. The Westin staff was unfriendly throughout the resort (from the beach bar to the pool area to the front desk). The only staff members who were nice and deserve a shout out was Benito who checked us in and the lady at the concierge desk who helped us with dining options. Cleaning ladies were so loud in the hallways every morning and didn’t vacuum the room once during our 4 days there. Cashiers/baristas at the Frenchman’s cafe constantly charged me for a large coffee when I asked for a small. At the end of our stay, the front desk charged us an extra 110 dollars for internet when we used the “free WiFi” they advertised on their website and on *******. The views from the property are beautiful, the amenities are also very nice, also I do recommend dining at the sushi restaurant however the service was so disappointing that if I do return to St. Thomas in the future, I will definitely not be staying here. You’re better off spending a bit more and getting a much better vacation experience at a 5 star hotel.

Gorgeous views from the hotel. We enjoyed the combination of beach and pool environments the hotel offers. Food service at some of the restaurants were lacking. Some of the restaurants had capacity but the staff was not willing to fill the tables, at peak dining times.
