Lou Pinet is a gorgeous property, away from the intensity of the Saint-Tropez scene but still very easily accessible to town via a five-minute hotel shuttle that runs anytime. The staff were lovely, the food (especially the breakfast spread) was fantastic, and the pool area is incredibly relaxing. The whole thing feels like Instagram bait, like a self-consciously Wes Anderson aesthetic, which may turn some folks off and likely attracts a clientele who are mostly interested in social media posts. But don't let that turn you off the property — it was a wonderful experience start to finish. The room was very comfortable and quiet, despite a large tour group who were passing through at the time. The only (very minor) cons: 1) the "gym" is hilariously small, and the hotel would be better placed to partner with a local gym instead; 2) the door locks on the guest rooms are insanely overcomplicated — so much so that even the hotel staff seem to have trouble locking and unlocking them. That last point sounds minor, but given how many times we entered and exited our room it added up to a material (and unnecessary) annoyance over the course of the stay. Saint-Tropez is not for everyone — we found the scene to be too much even in the wonderful September shoulder season — but it you want to stay very nearby at a lovely property, Lou Pinet is fantastic.
