Al Baleed Salalah Resort by Anantara

Al Baleed Resort has great location with miles of unspoilt white sand beach. Eating options are limited to only 3 restaurants. The breakfast at the Salkana restaurant is extremely good with great service from all the staff. However, the dinner buffet for the Indian night was below average with some dishes that did NOT do justice to the Indian Cuisine. There is much room for improvement on food quality and taste. The Al Mina restaurant (Mediterranean Cuisine) was very disappointing in terms of vegetarian options and general service. On one occasion we had to wait 40 minutes before even the bread & olive oil were brought to the table!

The resort wes amazing and staff were very friendly. Everything in the hotel were above standard including the breakfast however the price was high

Overall one of the best hotels I ever stayed in. Side note; I live in the UAE, where 5 stars hotel are really common. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, the beds super comfy and the washrooms are every woman's dream (lightning, mirrors and amouage amenities). Staff is super attentive, accommodating and naturally friendly. They actually love what they do and we as guests can feel it's authenticity - which makes everything dining experience really special. The food was beyond delicious and the variety in the buffet made it hard to choose and even harder to not overeat. Congratulations to the management and leadership of the hotel team - you truly do an amazing job. I will definitely be back!

Lovely villa, really nice amenities. Loved the pool in our villa, good location. Warm and friendly staff. Lovely welcome messages from Yousef outside our door written in sand and glitter. Mekong restaurant a must try. Good breakfast. Right next to the beach. Great for a special occasion

The softest sand in Oman! Clean ocean with breaking waves, the staff we present, friendly, committed and engaged. Fabulous food in all locations. Beautifully set out resort with lots of green and water. No better place to relax for a few days.

From the moment we entered everything was taken care of swiftly with great hospitality. Upgrade was provided free of charge and throughout the stay the staff were amazing. The quality and variety of food was second to none. Yussuf in particular deserves special recognition for his impeccable hospitality and warm heartedness. Thank you!

This resort exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed every bit of our stay here ❤️ Highlights: - before our stay, guest service agents were in constant communication with me, answering my inquiries, arranging transportation, and asking if there is anything they need to prepare prior to our arrival. responses were helpful and prompt. - when the airline canceled our flight, al baleed resort ensured a seamless transition in case we opted to reschedule our stay. - thankful to varun, tushara, mazin, and khalid - hotel transfer was on time and safe. thankful to jibin - our booking was upgraded to a garden villa near the beach. thankful to saud - the villa is aesthetically pleasing, huge, comfortable and functional. we especially love the incorporation of the traditional omani pattern in fabrics used in the benches - food and service at mekong for two nights were both excellent! we wanted to try everything out as every meal we tried were above and beyond our expectations. thankful to the chef, eaddie, racquel, tum and the rest of the staff - we highly recommend the crispy beijing prawn, thai vegetable spring rolls, chicken dim sum, thai red curry, beijing style half roasted duck, steamed fish in banana leaf, vietnamese shaking beef, and thai mango sticky rice - we highly recommend training with coach kitty. he offers muay thai lessons and swimming lessons. he teaches the basics and gives helpful feedback. he is organized and his instructions are direct and on point. - the kid’s club has a lot of activities. we are so thankful to dada and phiona for keeping our child cared for and entertained - when reception learned that our child was taking a nap upon check out, they permitted us to stay a bit longer - the staff - everyone we talked to were genuinely and authentically happy to be working at the resort. - others: white sandy beach, oman sunset, water playground Things to improve: - breakfast is typical, not much options (smiles of the staff are good to see in the morning though) - management of mosquitoes

This hotel does not deserve 5 star as per previous post, I totally agree. It is not a value for money. The main restaurant is used by local people, not hotel resident!!! During Ramadan it was so packed that we had to wait to be seated and were advised to come and eat after the local people eat first??!! This made us feel like we are second class citizens not guests. We have paid thousands of pounds for this holiday and we shall not eat when we like. When we came later the buffet looked like after tsunami. Food was cold, total disgrace. Because of this the staff was pushing us daily to go and eat at the A La Cart restaurant, food was ok, but because of the main restaurant being busy with locals it was severly understaffed and everything took ages!!! Very bad managment of this hotel. We left feedback on our last night stay and asked not to be contacted. During our last dinner despite our wishes Iana came to the dinner table and confronted us in front of all guests!!! This is not a 5 star treatment. I gave 2 star because the facilities are nice, but the cleanliness is not the best either. Salalah could be a place to go, but the local goverment and this hotel managment would have to start acting like they actually welcome tourists there.
