"If it weren't for the cheap New Year's holiday, I wouldn't have liked it, but otherwise, it's okay. The room is nice. The food is very good; I must have gained weight. The January weather is a bit of a bummer, both hot and cold at the same time. It's hot and burns in the sun, but cold in the shade by the pool and on the beach because of the wind. Changing out of wet swimsuits and trunks helps a bit. The Indian cleaning staff never refilled the room with tea, coffee, cream, or shampoo. They fished them out of neighboring rooms and demanded them, and then they gave them to me. I didn't like Oman at all. While you hardly see any citizens in the UAE, here you see both citizens and visitors. The citizens seemed stupid and lazy to me. Yes, they're rich from oil, but stupid. The New Year's Gala Dinner was terribly organized. They could have installed a solar collector for the pool and heated it for free; fortunately, the sun is very hot. There's a Nesto supermarket nearby; you can cross the road or go through a tunnel under the road. We bought some clothes for the grandchildren. They weren't expensive. The Union Pay RSHB card works. A trip to the mall from Fan Sun was $40. Other worthless excursions are much more expensive. We didn't go. About the departure. Our flight left at 11:55 PM. We were checked out of the room at 4:00 PM, but we went to lunch and dinner. Some smart people went to reception and asked about checkout and dinner. They were checked out at 6:00 PM, but they weren't allowed to go to dinner, so they didn't. Considering we were flying Oman, where the food is almost nonexistent, it's better to lie by the pool and have dinner. We definitely won't go back to Oman, and we definitely won't fly Oman Air again."
