My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and we had the best time. Such a welcoming atmosphere from everyone from the moment we arrived. Our room, number 16, was amazing with everything we could possibly need - my favourite toiletries too!. We enjoyed our delicious breakfasts each morning and had two stunning evening meals during our stay. The setting is much more than we could have hoped for and it was so amazing to park after a long journey and not need the car again until we left! In particular I'd like to say thank you to Josiah who was so friendly to us during our stay. We really miss everything about being at beautiful South Sands Hotel and will be coming back very soon ... please don't change a thing!

This hotel offers warmth and personality. The customer service is perfect both for humans and dogs. The sea views from the room is fantastic, you can hear the waves as you fall asleep. Third visit.

What a lovely stay, sadly only one night but we are fussy and we could not find fault. It’s always the small things isn’t it and they have in my opinion got it right from soaps to showers to the plate… From reception to bar to dining people with great attitude and just lovely. It did help that Salcombe had its hat on and was relatively quiet. I used to holiday here as a child and it awoke my enthusiasm for South Sands as it’s just a magical place to be. If only it was sunshine in the evening but its position means its cast I shadow early evening but you can’t have everything can you?

Gorgeous hotel right on the beach. Friendly staff. The room was lovely with a slipper bath. Everything very clean. The food was very excellent especially the breakfasts. We walked into Salcombe from the hotel then caught the water taxi back. We were so lucky to have dry sunny weather to make the most of the amazing views. If you want to go and recharge your batteries I would definitely recommend this hotel. Dogs are welcome and the facilities are very well thought out.

We booked just one night away from the kids. Mid-January so weather wasn’t great but it’s lovely cozy hotel. Salcombe is easily walkable and the views are fantastic. The food in the restaurant was very good, both the evening meal and breakfast were excellent and the views looking out of the beach and across the estuary from the table really make it. Very enjoyable stay.

We booked South Sands hotel for a four night Easter break with our dog. From the moment we contacted the hotel to make the booking till the time we left the staff were enthusiastic, professional, friendly and delivered excellent service. Our room was a Dragon room overlooking the sea and we woke to watch a perfect sun rise. We ate pretty much all our meals over the four days in the hotel and cannot fault anything. The menu provides an excellent selection of choices , good portion size and all very tasty. Having a dog with us caused no issues for the hotel , their staff or fellow guests. In fact having dogs around gave the hotel a relaxed and mellow feel. As a seasoned traveler and regular hotel guest it is not often I would say at after the four days at South Sands I cannot find any fault with our stay, in fact we are looking forward to our next visit. Exceptional experience.

The perfect getaway! Great and beautiful location, excellent customer service, delicious food and varied menu, welcoming and warm with the addition of a log fire on a wet and windy day - what more could you wish for. Thank you South Sands everything was perfect and we will be back again.
