fantastic holiday with my family. we had a reunion from Switzerland and I must say that it is an enchanting place with one of the most beautiful views ever seen before. in the morning we went to the centre of Salerno on foot in two minutes, in the afternoon we were in the pool until sunset with an aperitif in the garden. it is a magical place that we will carry in our hearts because we discovered the true flavour of southern Italy. Thanks to all the staff Alessandra e Federico

Very nice B&B with a great view on the harbor and a nice big pool. Careful this location has no restaurant and the a nice but simple breakfast on the terrasse which unfortunately is regularity invaded by wasp and hornets making most people move inside for breakfast. Indeed take a room with view far away from smoking rooms as the others are noisy, too warm and you wouldn’t want to get the smoke in your room when windows are open. Friendly room service leaving all doors from all rooms open for airing during cleaning - so do not leave any personal things as there is no real control on who goes in or out during that time. Wifi connection is not working well anywhere except for the veranda on ground floor and goes on and off regularity. Parking needs to be paid, careful spaces are very narrow and on hill, so doors of neighboring cars can easily damage yours. Even though video surveillance on parking - no use in case of issues. Pool is being shared with non guest people from surrounding against payment, so not really quiet place as some family reunions or even hotel staff gathering with prosecco and loud non stop talking disturbs clearly any possible relaxation at the pool. Even though signs are put up asking not to move the long chairs, they are being passionate for sun-targeting in a way, that you can hardly access pool needing to walk through a labyrinth of chairs, towels, sandals and other before arriving at the stairs to the pool which are transformed by locals into a seating group gathering area - so need to ask several times to being able to access the pool - very uncomfortable. A part from those unfortunate Hotel is clean and location great - careful distance to down-town fast and short, but lots of stairs and a half broken escalator on way up - so recommend using free shuttle service, as walking up so many stairs in summer in the sun is quite a torture. In regards to all these elements, the location is clearly a great place that needs only a few adjustments, but until then it is too expensive for what it is compared to others near by on the hill also enjoying of a hotel but with restaurant and other facilities I trust necessary adjustments will be done as owners seem active and very responsive

We had an amazing 2 weeks at this B&B. Location was fabulous. Easy access to bus, train and ferry. The staff were always cheerful and accommodating. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Each morning, we were always greeted with a smile and our breakfast was always amazing. We made time each day to enjoy their salt water pool. What makes Salerno a great location is it’s not over run with tourists and easy access to other destinations. We will be back. This is a wonderful place not to be missed. Many great memories were made here.

Horrible experience. We booked for 4 nights a room with garden view. See my picture, that was our view, the parking lot! We chose this hotel because it has a swimming pool. But… sorry it is empty : under renovation. The manager did hardly speak English and did not understand our frustration. No compensation offered. Our stay was totally prepaid. Finally he proposed to cancel ‘without extra cost’ You can leave now and find another hotel. And that is what we did. June, 4 nights in high season… A challenge. But we ended up in the Grand Hotel, balcony and sea view, totally happy !! We really felt cheated and we were frustrated on the managers behaviour, who first ducked and hide. He let his assistent (who had her job just since 10 days) to handle it. He is a a real cheater and liar.. Avoid this place !!!

Absolutely lovely boutique hotel with heavenly views and a welcoming, family atmosphere ..like staying in a wealthy relative’s seaside Villa! And Salerno is an undiscovered gem of a city …Italy the way it was and should forever be!

stayed the first week in august, pool to ourselves for 2 days, hotel perfectly clean, bathroom clean, hairdryer available, an easy walk down into town, an escalator available to make the journey back up easier (there are quite a few stairs) however they run a free shuttle back from town in the evenings which we availed of, would rebook if returning to salerno

This place has many pros and a few cons. The building used to be a family villa and still has that flavor, with many lounges and family pictures. These lounges are picturesque and cozy. The premises are mostly used for weddings and events, on their large terrace, solarium and pool, which in Winter looked dark green. Our room looked pretty, with a king size bed and a large bathroom almost the same size as the room, with a jacuzzi. We have only two complaints, but big ones. The mattress was very hard and the window had no curtains or blinds. I had to sleep with a night mask I usually use only in airplanes, because I find it uncomfortable.

Great hotel for the price with just a short walk to the ferries to Capri, Positano, and Amalfi. Breakfast was a nice convenience. The rooms are a bit dated but they have beautiful views. Just try to catch the escalator when you return...there are a lot of stairs.

Beware: No Free Airport Transfer, Unreasonable Staff/Policies We have had a bad experience with Villa Poseidon even before arriving. Three weeks before our stay at Villa Poseidon, I used ******* to search for a hotel with “free airport transfer” in the “Naples & Vicinity” area using these filters on their site. Pickings were slim, but Villa Poseidon came up and I booked two rooms for my wife and two adult daughters for a two-night stay before our return home to the U.S. A week later, per the confirmation email from *******, I followed up with the hotel to see if they could both pick us up from and take us back to Naples International Airport. I was told the free airport transfer only applied to the local Salerno airport, though this is not stated anywhere on the Villa Poseidon website or ******* profile for the hotel. Instead, it would cost us 140 Euros each way (the per night room rate was not much more). In hindsight, I should have paid closer attention to the map and checked with the hotel before booking the reservation, but when I explained the situation and asked if they would cancel our reservation, I received this response from Fabio R: “Unfortunately we cannot cancel the reservation. We are sorry about the situation and we understand that this kind of filter can be misleading.” To its credit, when I reached out to *******, they understood our predicament and tried as well to get Villa Poseidon to reconsider our cancellation request, and frequently updated me, but the hotel still refused. Even though the hotel acknowledges the ******* filter is “misleading,” and knows we don’t want to stay so far away before our flight, they are simply citing “policy,” so they can keep our money, despite having enough time to release the room. With two nights left before our flight home, we had no choice but to take the local train to the property, even though we literally didn’t want to be there. We enjoyed nearby Salerno, including the novel escalator up the steep steps almost back to the property, which has lovely grounds. But there were other examples of poor customer service: we were not allowed to eat by the pool, and actually told to go to our rooms, even though other guests were allowed to do so; when we went to breakfast on our last day, Fabio was waiting for us at the dining room and told us we could not bring our bags in. Just little irritations that kept building resentment. When the hotel’s shuttle van to the train station mysteriously wouldn’t start, I was convinced this was intentional. But to Fabios’s credit, he called and paid for a taxi. Overall, it’s a nice facility near a town we’d like to explore further, but the petty, inflexible staff and policies made the experience not worth repeating.

While one is prepared for changes due to the pandemic this hotel really overpromises and underdelivers. Staff most unfriendly, pool under construction, restaurant closed except for 2 hours, breakfast in a cold enclosure on metal chairs, no buffet, you need to fill out a form immediately upon arrival and specify every single item and exact time. When asking for an extra blanket (ugly brown wool with sheet) the answer is WHY?? Housekeeping has already left, it is clearly an inconvenience... At check out the haggle is about the city tax that is more than in the confirmation.... Stay away from this inhospitable place.

Beautiful place and great service. The manager from the reception or owner this hotel responds to every request, great communication, speaks English very well. The breakfasts are extremely tasty, there is a choice of options what I preferred for breakfast.service of the whole hotel extremely polite, rooms clean and beautiful view from the balcony. Beautifully landscaped gardens around the hotel. I cannot find word to describe, I am very peased and I will come back to this place. I recommend it to any demanding person who wants to rest. We were in Villa Poseidon 21.-25.03.2022. The gentleman was so kind that he even drove us to the airport. Excellent everything !!! Beatifull place!!!

Beautiful structure, excellent cleanliness, breakfast with a beautiful view. Shuttle service to the center very convenient especially for returning in the evening. In light of my experience, however, I believe that the greatest strength is the kindness of the staff, excellent attention to the customer and his needs.

Large room with a view of the Gulf of Salerno. The breakfast was excellent and above all the hospitality of all the staff! They were able to solve a logistical problem that was not their responsibility. The shuttle to the center in the morning and evening is a very useful free service for those arriving without their own car!

We stayed at this property for two nights in a quadruple room. The hotel is located between Vietri sul mare and Salerno: the walk down to the center of Salerno is quite convenient, the return is less easy. However, the hotel provides a shuttle at set times. Comfortable room with a beautiful view of the port of Salerno. The only big disappointment: the breakfast was basic to say the least and served in a closed lounge without the possibility of accessing a beautiful equipped outdoor terrace. Sin!!!

Almost deserted hotel located on the heights of Salerno, minimalist room and poorly maintained swimming pool, no restaurant service. Paid parking, €10. The garden is nice, flowery and well maintained. The town is accessed via a staircase from the back. For one night but no more.
