Wagon Wheel Motel

Great place to stay. Even though the reviews weren't great, I chose this one for price & location to the airport. Very clean & beautiful. No bad smells as that's one of the first things I check. Clean sheets & nice bed & pillows. Help at front desk was very nice & polite. Checking was fast. Ckean bathroom & shower/bath. I'll be back!!

Rude desk clerk refused to let me check in. Claimed that it was because check in is at 3:00 PM only. I had a arrived a few hours later. Avoid this place at all costs. Worst experience ever. Stay at the Laurel Inn. You have to drive passed it to get to the Wagon Wheel anyway.

we arrived at the motel and wanted to check in. My credit card was not working although it was working a day before in another hotel. She raised already her voice and said „no money - no money“. When we asked for trying with my boyfriends credit card, she freaked out, that we can‘t try it over and over again. As I told her, to talk to me in a nicer way, she freaked even more out and said „go, go, just go“, I‘ll call the police“. We could hear, that she talked to somebody on the phone, and told them how rude I was… I never had such a horrible experience before!!!

So we got to the motel we were booked at for the night (Wagon Wheel Motel). I walked in the office and rang the bell. A woman came out and said "What do you want?" I smiled because of the manner she greeted me, and I said "I have a reservation." and she started rising her voice. Saying, "I'm having problem with internet and cannot processs card and you cannot stay." I thought she was kidding but then she went ballistic, almost screaming saying I can go somewhere else, when I asked where, she said, she does not know.. Such a bummer.. Called *********** customer service and got a booking somewhere else.. If you're ever in Salinas and need to stay for the night.. DO NOT GO TO WAGON WHEEL MOTEL!!! It seems like they are well known for their misconduct in the community, as I mentioned to the reception in the other hotel I ended up to, she smiled and said, "oh yeah.. them.. I hope they did not charge your card." Not very good customer service.. *********** agent tried to contact them while I was holding on the line and they never picked up.. If I could give a negative star, this place and the owners would have gotten 5 from me.. Imagine riding motorcycle with your son for 500 miles and end up not having a place to stay...
