TownePlace Suites Salt Lake City Downtown

I stayed at the hotel for a business trip, and the location was very convenient as it was adjacent to the convention center. It was located downtown, so going to the mall or other tourist attractions was good. However, the bedding was not washed and ironed. All 4 pillows had a musty smell, and even after room cleaning in the middle, the condition was the same. So I couldn't tell if the bedding was changed or not. Also, I mistakenly booked the check-in date and added one extra day when I checked in. But it seems necessary to check as it is charged at the average price of 2 days. However, I did not receive any receipt or billing documents after check-out via e-mail or a printed one.

Parking was out doors and a very small lot. Automatic gate was a struggle. Room was very nice with so many amenities! Great for preparing your own food and has a full-size refrigerator. Wish I was staying longer to take advantage.

Perfect location for walking to restaurants and entertainment. Cute hotel, clean, quiet. Rooms were big, had a larger fridge.

I dare you to look for a hotel that’s more convenient, cleaner, friendlier, up-to-date, and of good value in Salt Lake. From the modern decor to the amazingly friendly staff, I want to go back just to get to stay at this hotel again! On my last morning there, I noticed a group of what seemed to be hotel employees meeting in a small room off to the side. I found out it was indeed hotel employees – and the owner – who was grateful for my high praise of the property. I can sincerely say this is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Dirty and Noisy! The first night of our stay I reached up in the cupboard to get a clean bowl and it was full of a previous "Guest's" spit out cherry pits and stems! The front desk offered to send up a housekeeper with clean bowls, which she did. No offer of compensation was made. We received a box of chocolate truffles and a note of apology in our room. The next door nightclubs started in at 8:00pm every night and continued until 1:00 am. Thumpity-Thumpity-Thump, shaking the walls and making sleep impossible. Finally, the heating/cooling wall unit was broken on the last night. It would rattle on for 20 seconds, then stay off for 20 minutes, then repeat the process. The thermostat setting made no difference at all. When I called about it at 2:00am I was told the there was no engineer on duty at that hour. Skip the frustration. Save your money. Don't stay here.

This was the worst Marriott stay to date. Not one, not two, but 3 nightclubs are next door. There are also several dangerous alleys with homeless people wandering, and the parking garage is very inconveniently located far from the hotel . We hated this place . It’s not conveniently located even to downtown considering everything
