Hotel Imlauer & Bräu Reviews

It is a 10-minute walk from Salzburg Central Station, and even on rainy days you can walk about 70% of the way from the station under the gate, so you hardly get wet. You can also walk to the old town. The room was clean and had a bathtub, which is rare in Europe. Salzburg Central Station and the train tracks are right in front of the hotel, and it was fun just watching the trains from the window. Despite the train tracks right in front of me, I was able to sleep very quietly at night. There is also a refrigerator and air conditioning. There were two free drinks, sparkling wine and regular water. The staff were also friendly and nice. This hotel is recommended for sightseeing in Salzburg.

Convenient location, very comfortable, recommended

We felt very welcome and at home at Hotel Imlauer & Bräu. The beds were very comfy and the property was just a 10 min walk from the Marionette Theatre and the Old Town. The staff member who first welcomed us was incredibly kind and helpful, and it set the tone for our entire stay in Salzburg. Danke schön!

Nice hotel in walking distance to many of the main sites in Salzburg. The front staff was very professional and courteous when we arrived, providing good directions and recommendations for dinner. Parking was easy, and breakfast was plentiful. The room was a very good size for the three of us. Would stay here again.

Great location! About 10 min walk to main train station. Room was large, clean, comfortable, for our family of four. Great restaurant on site, also another sister property down the street w nice restaurant Pitterkeller. We enjoyed the stay and friendly service. Hotel helped us buy tickets for the Sound of Music tour which was amazing!

We stayed here with our children and really liked the room set up. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were super helpful. The hotel is located about halfway between the train station and the old town, so it is convenient to walk to either. It might be more walking then some would like to the altstadt, (about 15 minutes or so) so if walking is a challenge, then a location closer within the altstadt might be a better choice.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Imlauer Hotel. Very close to the historic center of Salzburg. The room was impeccably clean and in good taste. The added bonus is their wonderful restaurant that is attached to the hotel.

Decent room, only major complaint is that air conditioning underperformed. We don't expect North American ultra-cool temps -- for us, we can sleep comfortably at 23-24C. The AC system was clearly working (cool air at vent) but insufficient to get our room below 26C at bedtime (it was 24C when we woke up) with outdoor temps in the 25-28C range during the day and around 18C at night. So I would say this hotel is perfectly good except during hot summer days.

Convenient location just 7min walking from train station and 20min walking radius to all sites in the old town. Only downside is that my room is on ground floor next to the housekeeping took room, every morning working staff coming in and out speaking loudly and slamming the doors, couldn't sleep at all. So avoid ground floor room E07 and E08.

When I checked in, the staff welcomed me with beautiful smile and used easy english to help me. At the ground floor, there is a restaurant which opens until 11 pm. It was very nice to have dinner after the late checkin. Close to both station and tour place.

The hotel is a few minutes‘ walk from the train and bus station, and the downtown area (Getreidegasse) is an easy 15 minute walk along the river. The breakfast buffet is a bit pricey (€20) but has a very generous selection, and everything was very tasty.

Everyone at this hotel was super friendly, Johannes at the front desk went above and beyond for us. He helped us with directions and great suggestions on where to go. Without his help I would not have had such a wonderful trip.
