"This hotel is absolutely awful. From the outside, it looks quite nice, and the breakfast view is good, but the overall management is worse than a domestic 3-star hotel. The tissue I dropped on the floor wasn't cleaned for three days. You can visibly see dust on the doorknobs and headboard. Can you even imagine the hygiene situation here? This kind of hotel doesn't even provide slippers; do you dare walk barefoot? Secondly, when we checked in, there were clearly two staff members present, but only one was handling the check-ins. We waited for nearly 30 minutes. This negative review is very real, and I have photos to prove it."

"Salzburg is a ok town. Until you show up to the Schloss. What do they have? Great pool. Grab a couple aperol spritzes and go for an underwater breathing competition. Great breakfast. Skip the serve it yourself buffet and Order an omelette and some crepes. Great town. Take the elevator and walk to La Stella. Order the bolognese, the feta cheese pizza, and the tiramisu. Drink wine and take the long way back. Draw a bath, walk around in the robe, and fall asleep reading. Salzburg is now your favorite town."

"The room was spacious, but the facilities were old, and the hygiene needed improvement; the electric kettle still had limescale buildup. On the first day, we received two bottles of water, but amenities weren't replenished afterwards. The surrounding area wasn't great – dirty, messy, and generally poor. If you don't like staying with tour groups, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. Korean tour groups were constantly chattering in the lobby. Whenever a group arrived, the iced water, chocolates, and fruit at the welcome bar were immediately wiped out, and the front desk did nothing to manage it."

"The hotel is very near the train station; a short bus ride drops off at the stop that is a 2 minute distance from the hotel. Also very convenient to get to the town square and main shopping areas. We were welcomed with a huge smile and greeting by one of the male reception staff, name starts with M although I cannot recollect his full name. He checked us in and even gave a complimentary upgrade since it was my birthday. They also advised us on how we could get to Hallstatt and it was the best way to get there. Rooms were clean, big and the bathrooms had floor heating which made it cosy in the mornings. Wonderful service by him! Was asked if I wanted a cake for my birthday; expected a single slice but came back to an entire cake with a card and flowers. Made me so happy! It was a wonderful experience staying here and I would definitely recommend it for any traveler."

"The room is a bit packed as the bed is super big. Having said that, the room is nicely designed and decorated. Free mini-bar with daily refill is rarely found in hotels in Europe. The buffet breakfast is absolutely the highlight. The omelette is crispy outside and molten inside, preserving the freshness and original flavours of all ingredients. Must try! All hotel staffs are polite and helpful. In terms of location, whether or not it is convenience, it depends. It is in the middle of Salzburg central station and the old town, going to either location is about 12 minutes walk. Salzburg down town is not big anyway. Everything is in walking distance."

"I recently spent three nights at Rosewood and it was nothing short of transformative. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I had stepped into a peaceful sanctuary designed to soothe both body and soul. The setting is absolutely serene - nestled in the hills with panoramic views of nature that instantly invite calm. The spa facilities are world-class. The wellness programs were thoughtfully curated. I participated in guided morning yoga, meditation sessions, and wellness programs. These experiences felt authentic, not gimmicky, and left me feeling recharged and inspired. My room was spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully minimalist. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. It truly felt like the hotel had thought of everything. Dining was another high point. The restaurant offered a wellness-focused menu with fresh, seasonal ingredients. I’m not vegan, but the plant-based options were so flavorful I didn’t miss meat at all. They even accommodated my gluten and lactose intolerance without issue. Lastly, the staff deserve a special mention. Every interaction - from the front desk to the wellness coacheswas warm, and respectful."

It's located in the mountains, requiring a 20-minute uphill hike, making the return trip a painful experience every night. In short, it's not suitable for people without a car."
Room 4 & 5 Apartments
"Our stay in the apartment Little Piece of Heaven in Room 4 Apartments was a truly memorable and comfortable one. Firstly, it allows for self-check-in, so having arrived in Salzburg at around 8p.m. this was a big plus. Additionally, it is situated just a couple of minutes walk from the old town and city centre, however it is also very accessible by public transport. We used the buses to and from the property quite frequently and we recommend this lodging for its prime and convenient location. We were also offered parking at a cost, however we did not make use of this facility. The room itself is quite small, however it is very well-equipped and it suited our needs very nicely. We were only staying for four nights and spent most of our days out and about. However, the property has central heating, a functioning kitchen and even the possibility to make use of a communal washing machine and tumble dryer. In the apartments there are also cups, plates, mugs, cutlery, pots and pans that we made good use of, especially to make breakfast. Supermarkets can be found quite close by as well. Nonetheless, the area is quiet and safe. The bathrooms were nicely finished, albeit very minimalistic. We appreciated the fact that half-way through our stay, we were provide with a change of towels. Having said that, there were only two very small containers with shower gel, so I was glad I brough shower gel from home. I feel that the apartment could also have been a bit cleaner and more pillows could have been provided. We made do with the additional blankets found in one of the drawers. On our last day we decided to roam around the beautiful city of Salzburg and the information booklet provided in the apartment indicated that we could make use of the bikes at the property on a first-come first-serve basis and free of charge. There were three bikes available and we got to enjoy our last day roaming around Salzburg by bike, sightseeing, visiting museums and even geocache hunting. Overall, the apartment was a good value for money and since the city of Salzburg will definitely call us back for more exploring in the future, we will definitely try to book this lodging again."

"This hotel is highly recommended! Those who drive should definitely not miss it, but those without a car shouldn't even consider it. It's located in the hills behind Salzburg, and in the evening, you can overlook the entire city. It's absolutely stunning. The hotel has its own Michelin-starred restaurant, which was closed on Sunday when we visited, but the breakfast was excellent. It's truly one of the two nicest breakfasts I've ever had (the top spot would probably go to Landhaus zu Appesch on Lake Wolfgang), but the value for money is still the best! The hotel also has an outdoor pool, and there's a flock of sheep and bees in the hills behind. I hooted at the sheep twice, and they roared at me, haha. You can lie on the grass in front of the hotel, read, drink beer, and bask in the sun. I wish there were more moments like this."

"This is a really lovely guesthouse. A very warm welcome, a lovely comfortable room with good shower room. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the pretty gardens and outdoor pool. Unfortunately for us it rained very hard for our entire stay so we didn’t get to enjoy the balcony as we should have, but it would certainly have been a real bonus in normal weather. Delicious breakfast and well situated for the bus into Salzburg. A bar, but no evening dinner available. A couple of restaurants within walking distance…..we went to one recommended which was close by (5 minute walk), very good local food…….I can’t remember the name, you’d have to ask, but I do remember you need to pay cash (which was quite the norm at a lot of places in Salzburg, and in Berchtesgaden (where we visited next)). If we return to Salzburg, I would definitely stay here again."

"Hotel staff is great and i paid for a superb breakfast! I like that the hotel is right next to the train station and A huge mall. View from the restaurant was also breathtaking. Salzburg is beautiful, and the reception tried their best to be accommodating and kind towards visitors. Room is clean and great for solo travellers, stay was absolutely value for money. Hotel is walkable to salz river if u fancy a quick run, and then near multiple attractions. Convenient and comfortable stay, a shame i couldn’t be there longer 🥲"

"The room was so small you could barely turn around, even though it was supposed to be a "comfort room." The furniture was uniform but ancient. The mattress was incredibly soft. The result: back pain! The bathroom had only been renovated with the bare minimum of materials and looked dingy. There were cracks in the sink and stains on the bathroom furniture. It was unbearably hot and stuffy in the room, with only a poorly functioning fan. The window couldn't be opened, even at night, due to constant street noise. It was awful and completely overpriced (even during the festival season). A youth hostel is definitely more comfortable and pleasant. The photos on the website showed the rooms were idealized. Never again!!!"

"The hotel is conveniently located, about an 8-minute walk from the station and 15 minutes from Mirabell Palace. The hotel environment is beautiful, and the front desk service was very nice. However, there's a critical issue: when I booked a comfortable double room, the pictures showed a bathroom with a wet/dry separation. In reality, the bathroom (as shown in image two) had no partition at all. After showering, the entire bathroom floor would be wet, making it very inconvenient to use the toilet at night."

"The hotel offers free and convenient parking. It's also very clean. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but the food tastes good. They provide Salzburg guest mobility tickets, and there's a bus stop nearby, just a 20-minute ride to the city center, which is really handy. Plus, there's a Penny supermarket right next to the hotel."
