It feels like a country hotel located in a quiet place.
When it gets late at night, the hotel doors are locked until dawn, which seems perfect for older travelers who are concerned about security.
The room is relatively small, but it is equipped with fluorescent lights to make it easy to work quietly.
You can have a light buffet meal in the morning, but since I don't like greasy food, I ate a fried egg, a sausage, yogurt, tangerines (high in sugar), and a slice of bread. I also ordered and drank black coffee for free.
The hotel staff are friendly, but they don't speak English well.
When I checked out to take the 6 o'clock high-speed train to Tashkent, I was surprised to be asked for a tourist tax of $4 per day or $8 for both days. I thought I would be late for the train, so I paid for it and got on the train, then told the tour guide to go there and collect the money since I felt like I was being ripped off. Looking at the KakaoTalk message the tour guide sent later, it seems that Samarkand really collects a tourist tax. It would be good to know that those staying in Samarkand will have to pay an additional $4 per day.

we really enjoyed our short stay in this hotel. Staff was great (really enjoyed Umar at the front desk...but others were also great). Our room was nice and breakfast was really good. Location was also quite good and central to the city. I'd definitely plan to stay here again if traveling through Samarkand.

Nice local styled hotel, a bit old fashioned, with a sister hotel with the same name opposite. It has three levels with no lift. There is an indoor courtyard that some of the rooms face into. The rooms are a reasonable size with a couple of chairs. As a single I had a double bed. The bathroom has a walk in shower with no bath. There is good water pressure & plenty of hot water. There is Airconditioning in each room. There is a pool on the top floor and a sauna in the basement. The TV has a couple of English speaking news channels. There is free wifi which is stable but a little slow. Breakfast was included which had a good choice of hot & cold dishes. The staff are friendly and helpful. It would be a long walk to downtown but taxis are cheap. Nothing grand but all up a pleasant stay.

We really didn't like this structure, probably the older of the two which are facing each other on the same street. Fairly dated furnishings, our room had the lock unhinged and they had to call in the handyman because in addition to not locking it, it sent the anti-intrusion alert system into alarm. Heavy curtains everywhere and internal views that make the room sad complete the picture. The breakfast, although abundant in variety of savory foods so dear to Northern European tourists, was perhaps the one with the worst offer of croissants, biscuits and other things to accompany the classic cappuccino, I would also have to say about this, Italian style. Probably, indeed certainly, there is better in Samarkand. This happened to us.

hotel molto carino con una piccola corte interna/giardino con poltroncine e divanetti molto rilassanti dopo una giornata di visite. la nostra camera era proprio a piano terra. camera ampia con letti grandi e comodi. doccia con vasca...avrei preferito solo la doccia. colazione buona nella media.

Laissez de côté la décoration chargée et un peu kitsch. Emplacement 4/5 20 mn à pied du Registan. Quartier très calme, proche de restaurants. Chambres 4/5 de bonne taille, literie confortable, climatisation moderne et silencieuse. Salle d’eau 5/5 Amenities 4/5 Service de lingerie 5/5 Piscine 3/5. A le mérite d’être là, terrasse ensoleillée Chaussons et robes de chambres fournies ( comme partout en Ouzbekistan) Personnel 5/5 courtois, professionnel, efficace.
