Enjoyed our recent stay at The Springs Resort with our adult children. Such a lovely hotel, perfectly situated to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. Our favorite part of the grounds were the hot springs at Club Rio, and the Club Rio Restaurant. We spent an entire day there, and felt like we had the place to ourselves… just magical. The reason for four stars instead of five is due to our room, the two bedroom, two bath Aracari Suite (121). We thought this would be perfect for our five person family. We expected two fully functional bedrooms/bathrooms… Wrong! While one bedroom/bathroom had all the amenities expected of a five star hotel, the second was basically a dorm room. The bedroom had no mirror or even a trash can, but it was the restroom that was the real problem… basically a very large, nearly empty room. The one sink was set in a small counter with no other shelves or cabinets for toiletries. No hooks for towels or toiletry bags except for one on the door so high I couldn’t reach it. Not even a towel ring to hold a hand towel by the sink. The shower had no hand held sprayer like the other bathroom, and had a flimsy shower curtain. Needless to say, there was no hair dryer, make-up mirror, or full length mirror. We spoke to the front desk, and were given a small table to place in the bathroom for storage. For the price we paid, we expected appropriate accommodations for our entire group, not just those staying in half the suite. Upon check out, we were asked about our stay, and I mentioned the room situation. The staff person issued us a $100 refund. My advice… visit The Springs Resort, it’s amazing, but avoid rm 121!
