We were so excited for this family trip to celebrate a milestone wedding anniversary and to take our toddler to the zoo. We planned months in advance and reached out to the hotel staff weeks before our arrival to request a crib in the room & microwave to heat up the baby's milk - they asked that we call in the day before to remind them of this request and we did just that. We timed our arrival to have the baby get to the room to nap as soon as we could (otherwise it throws off the full day). Upon check-in to the room - found that there was no crib and no microwave (as we painstakingly tried to overcommunicate as a needed request). After calling, it was delivered - but the nap window had passed. We opted for some family time at the pool - but were quickly thrown off by how murky/dirty the pool water was. Understand that with children - it's bound to get dirty (but that should be offset my frequent cleaning...it was the end of the day, and just really gross). My husband has a much higher tolerance for 'gross' got out of the pool quickly when he saw 'hairballs' float by. We were given a room that we were told had 'VERY easy access to the pool area from our room' as our balcony had an entrance gate just off if it - but found that the gate was constantly locked (our keycards would not work) so had to walk all the way around, which again was not communicated when we checked in. My husband had communicated it was a milestone wedding anniversary several times in advance and upon arrival (as typically a special accommodation is made). Nope, not here... We reviewed the hotel events and hoped to participate as much as we could. With visibility for fireworks stated for a late viewing. We kept our son up to enjoy this - to learn that the events calendar was incorrect and there was no fireworks show that night. On the Sunday of checkout, my son wanted to play pingpong for a bit before we checked out (located in the gated pool area). There was a lady with a table set up that was checking everyone's room (for what reason, no idea?) it caused a line to form - if you have a keycard that works, isn't that enough? With just 30 min before we left, spending 20 min in a line to check in was absurd. We requested an additional hour at checkout to be able to have breakfast and pack up...nope, denied. Truly was such a disappointing experience. Was hoping this could be a resort that we visit a few times a year with family & friends...but will not be recommending to others.
